Eye test? I'd actually say O'Neill is the most impressive in that category in that his dodges are physical and emphatic. Second would be Shellenberger for his first-step speed and change of direction. Dordevic also dodges hard. Then maybe Dickson for being slick, and Cormier and Kavanagh are probably similar in finding spots rather than power dodging. I've seen less of Kirst's style and mostly have just seen his stats because Ivy games are hidden behind pay channels but saw him in the Ivy Tournament game.rolldodge wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 10:12 am I think O’Neill is an interesting contender with the balance of goals and assists he’s been able to achieve. He suffers a bit a la LeBron James when it comes to these conversations in that his game is not a “beautiful” as some others. He’s more of a power forward than a shooting guard.

Usual Tewey BS.
This award is unnecessary. USILA has awarded the Enners to the outstanding D1 player forever and there was no need for a duplicate.

That's a shame. It's just like the Heisman.

Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
I was pretty close. I still think swapping out Shellenberger instead of Adler to add Dordevic would make a better list -- Shelley might be the best player when he's at 100% but with injuries he has not been this year -- but obviously the Foundation folks thought differently. Defensemen are at the mercy of the stat line -- FOGOs make the finalist list more often because there's that jazzy percentage. It's a shame, though. The Orfling wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 7:58 am Final 5 announced tomorrow (May 11) — predictions? My 5 in alphabetical order:
1. Gavin Adler
2. Pat Kavanagh
3. CJ Kirst
4. Brennan O’Neill
5. Connor Shellenberger
(First out for me might be Dordevic: hottest offensive player on a team going into the tournament with tons of momentum.)

No Mikey Powell?!?? C’mon, man.
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Going in to the tournament, off this list. It’ll *likely* be Kirst or O’Neill, depending which team goes deepest.
The other 3 could win but only if their team wins the ‘ship, and they excel. Tall order though.

Jimmy Lewis is another one who doesn’t make these lists because it was too long ago - but the old goats on LP used to talk him up a lot.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 12:40 pmSorry, he's in the 6-10 range. Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
I'm confused. All Ivy games this years have been on ESPN+/ESPNU, just like the games of the other people you mention above.
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Yeah, they're on ESPN+ which is subscription. The few games on ESPNU, I did catch. Most ACC games are on ACCN, which is not a subscription where I am.
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Makes sense; they're all bundled together for me, but I guess that varies provider-to-provider.Gatsby wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 1:10 pmYeah, they're on ESPN+ which is subscription. The few games on ESPNU, I did catch. Most ACC games are on ACCN, which is not a subscription where I am.

Joke of a list. Shellenberger is there on name and talent; production hasn't been there due to injuries. Dordevic has come on strong, but for the first half of the season he was at times a detriment to the Georgetown offense. Adler's body of work blows both of them out of the water.
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Long time lurker. First time poster. Just ridiculous that Adler is not on the list

Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
If they ever had the chance to appear that they look at the complete body of work, and just not the stat sheets, this was the year with the way ADLER has performed week in and week out. By not even listing him in the top 5 is a travesty and obviously are only interested in one side of the field, same as the Heisman only interested in offense. At least with the heisman they have gone defense I believe with that d-back punt returner from Michigan about 20 years ago.

Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Have to agree with this. Adler deserved to be on the list. One caveat though, I would place a bet on Shellenberger, if he had the 5th best odds to win. He has been productive (not to normal standards), despite being banged up. He is likely going to be at 100% in the tournament He has chance to put on a show and steal the Twaaraton.random observer wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 1:19 pmJoke of a list. Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
The Adler hype has become a bit much. Very good defender but Kirst imho is Cornell's most impactful player after watching several of their games. Other than Army game, he's been a force. Expect Tewwarton to likely go to Oneill who is senior with higher assists but Kirst definitely belongs in convo with him, Kavanaugh and Dordevic.
