Thx, worth watching….it’s kind of crazy but St Anthony’s may have to sweep 3 from Chaminade to hold onto the #1 ranking
Absolutely wild, but true.

Joe

Thanks so much Wahoomurf!! I’ll catch that. Ironically I’ll be on LI that day. No way I could make it in person but I might try.
Hope you can get to the game. Ironically I will not be on L.I. on the 10th. It's always a war. And win or lose, you won't hear fans, alum's nor Coach Wizzer or Moran complaining and proffering wouldas, couldas or shoudas. I drove to the St. A's - Haverford game with 3 other folks. Two were Chaminade grads. While there's no love lost between St. A's and Chaminade we agreed the team that won scored more goals.

Wow. One team won and one team lost. The sun will hopefully come up tomorrow!

A far cry from some of the parsing and "condemnation with faint praise" you may read on this thread. Which IMHO are both childish and churlish.

The sun came out today. I was waiting to be sure. 😂😂

I’d really love to attend that game; I’m rarely on LI.

Trying now to change some meeting times to do it.

Some of the big games remaining…. As per above there’s St As vs Chaminade on the 10th is a big one, and then Chaminade vs Manhasset on the 13th. There’s Northport vs WM on the 9th…...but is that a battle for #2 at this point because Connetquot has first place locked up? Mt Sinai has East Islip tomorrow. Also Port vs Syosset (12th) and Farmingdale vs Massapequa (13th). GC and CSH don’t seem to have a tough game coming until LIC

If WM finishes 13-1 in the league they should get the 1 seed because their win over Connetquot is the highest value win on the board and Connetquot has a win over Brentwood which is worth zero points. So WM is playing for the 1 seed. Northport is playing for a home game in the quarterfinal.

Current playoff picture in Suffolk A (standings below): if Ward Melville wins out, they'll be the top seed with Connetquot at 2. 3-6 is still extremely close. Currently Northport is in third position despite having a 1-2 record vs the other teams in this cluster. How this works out depends a lot on the remaining schedule.

Northport: WM (11-1), at Riverhead (3-9)
Smithtown East: at Huntington (9-3), at Sachem East (6-6)
Huntington: Smithtown East (9-3), at Sachem North (7-5)
Hills: Bay Shore (8-4), at Brentwood (0-12)

The most likely outcome is that the winner of the Smithtown East/Huntington game will get the 3 seed, unless Northport beats WM.

Ward Melville 11-1-0 11-3-0 169.170
Connetquot 11-1-0 12-2-0 166.040
Northport 9-3-0 11-3-0 147.500
Smithtown East 9-3-0 9-5-0 146.670
Huntington 9-3-0 9-4-0 145.840
Half Hollow Hills 9-3-0 10-3-0 144.160
Bay Shore 8-4-0 9-5-0 130.210
Sachem North 7-5-0 9-5-0 115.200
Longwood 7-5-0 9-5-0 111.030
Sachem East 6-6-0 6-8-0 104.370

CUT

Patchogue-Medford 6-6-0 7-7-0 98.530
South Fork 6-6-0 7-7-0 95.200

Don’t look now but Mount Sinai with another impressive win, over East Islip 10-3

I just have to mention that West Islip took BBP to overtime yesterday. The loss snapped the Lions' 7 game winning streak since their lopsided loss to Mount Sinai.

I wouldn't count out WI in the B playoffs, that is for sure.

Are they the top pick for B in Suffolk? I was looking over GCs “subpar year” and outside of their Texas trip, they only have 1 goal losses to Mt Sinai and Manhasset, and have beaten Ward Melville and Radnor, plus a few others. I’m not a believer in excluding your worst performances to say “look how good we are otherwise”, but a long trip to Texas where you have nothing to gain, and they have all the motivation to prove something, is not the best measuring stick. Otherwise they’ve been very respectable. I’ve been wondering who could stop them from getting off Long Island in the playoffs….

GC is the favorite to get off Long Island, no doubt. I guess Hauppauge is the nominal favorite in Suffolk B, with Comsewogue, West Islip, and East Islip in contention.

Don’t overlook South Side in Nassau B. Last 2 games lost at GC by 1 and beat CSH by 2. Could be the year they make some noise.

For some reason keep thinking they're C. You're right though.

They usually have a good D and do a good job of playing GC tough, but rarely beat them….maybe this is the year, but it looks like GC and CSH both in “down” years have the best path off LI of anyone

Thanks! It truly doesn't matter how many times we beat them, it always feels like a shock to me. But if you can believe it, we've now beaten them 4 of the last 5 times.

That’s how I used to feel about GC in the early-mid 00s. I guess you could be playing them again as #2 vs #3? Btw, Connetquot didn’t look so hot vs Commack. Northport probably has as good a chance as anyone in A

8-4 St Anthony’s, closing out the half with a 7-1 run. Their defense doing a great job preventing Chaminade from getting good looks

Honestly if you told me any of the top 6 won it, I'd believe you.

Please keep posting scores. I’m at Newark Airport. I really wanted to see this game but couldn’t rearrange things. Thanks.
