Thx, worth watching….it’s kind of crazy but St Anthony’s may have to sweep 3 from Chaminade to hold onto the #1 ranking

Currently looking for a Manhasset score, hopefully gets posted soon on LaxNumbers. Anybody witness it in person? Thanks!

9-7 win.
Opposition said to be good.
Manhasset highway patrolled on penalties 10 (to their) 4.

Sounds like it, anyways on to Chaminade next Saturday. What I like about this team is that they are built to win in many different ways.kr522 wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 8:46 pmNothing like home town ref’ingJoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 8:39 pmFord, fordmaddoxford wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 8:19 pm 9-7 win.

Definitely very balanced….Petersen is pretty stellar, but they can win when teams overplay him. There’s really no one to focus on or shut down, and they’re strong in every aspect. Reminds me a lot of that 2010 team which had a great FO guy in Buhr, and Belinsky was the leader, but everyone could hurt you and they had great D and goalie

This is a great comparison, that team also had a really solid goalie in Morelli as a junior. Matty Im is really becoming a solid keeper as a junior as well. The similarities are uncanny.

Unsung heroes, to me, are Lapina and Flood.
Re: Long Island 2023
Yeah, I’d probably give the offensive nod to that team because Belinsky could invert on a short stick and suddenly was an unstoppable attackman, but both teams are eerily similar. Hopefully this squad can finish out the season like that one did. Everyone is gunning for themJoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:31 pmkr,kr522 wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:07 pm Definitely very balanced….Petersen is pretty stellar, but they can win when teams overplay him. Lapina and Flood are excellent. SSDMs don’t always standout, but those guys constantly do. I’m very curious to see this Chaminade game, they have a way of exposing any weakness

St. Anthony’s @ Haverford on SFBN (YouTube) 11:00 a.m.
Haverford puttin’ it on St. Anthony’s; 9-5 at the half.

Baffled by the coaching from St. Anthony's today. Haverford is face guarding Duffy and the Friars have done absolutely nothing to scheme him open. They're not even ensuring that he gets the ball on restarts when they miss a shot.

Down goes St. Anthony's!! Haverford 16- St .A -15
Re: Long Island 2023
Great game. Tale of two halves, with St A dominating the second. Tough loss, but this was always a toss up again, Haverford is one of the top 3 teams in the country. Expect IL to be quite punitive to St A as they despise teams from LI.
Re: Long Island 2023
Can’t be very punitive at this stage….they manhandled Culver, Gilman, and Staples, and have taken on all comers. It’s hard to have your A+ game every week, which is what you need to do with this kind of schedule, especially when you travel to play most of these games
Re: Long Island 2023
Agree completely. Though you know the staff at IL is licking their chops to move in a completely overrated NE prep team. This is still the best team in the country at this point and have easily handled several top 25 teams. Haverford is one of the top 3 teams in the country, this was never anything but a toss up. They have their work cut out for them as they now play one of my other personal favorites, the Flyers. Great week on tap.kr522 wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 2:12 pmCan’t be very punitive at this stage….they manhandled Culver, Gilman, and Staples, and have taken on all comers. Re: Long Island 2023
Not sure if St. Anthony’s came down this morning but they looked like a team that had taken a 3+ hour bus ride; they looked a step slower than usual. Finally figured Haverford FOGO out a little in the 4th quarter. Faceoff x was probably the determining factor.

Thanks so much Wahoomurf!! I’ll catch that. Ironically I’ll be on LI that day. No way I could make it in person but I might try.
Re: Long Island 2023
Hope you can get to the game. Ironically I will not be on L.I. on the 10th. It's always a war. And win or lose, you won't hear fans, alum's nor Coach Wizzer or Moran complaining and proffering wouldas, couldas or shoudas. I drove to the St. A's - Haverford game with 3 other folks. Two were Chaminade grads. While there's no love lost between St. A's and Chaminade we agreed the team that won scored more goals.Finster wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 3:08 pmJoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 6:02 pmAbsolutely wild, but true.

Wow. One team won and one team lost. The sun will hopefully come up tomorrow!
A far cry from some of the parsing and "condemnation with faint praise" you may read on this thread. Which IMHO are both childish and churlish.
