I think that Jacksonville may simply be in a bit of a slump as a team right now. Recently, they have not looked that impressive.

Some very exciting ASUN contests this weekend. Bellarmine is my top pick for most improved and most exciting team so far.

To be honest, I don't think highly of Michigan (especially not the HC) but I think Michigan would be the #1 in the ASUN. And if they were in the conference last year- would've won it.
Would Michigan be better than third in this conference?

While I am sure the ASUN would love to have MI join the conference, I am really confused at what the point of this is? Are we saying MI has improved and could now compete with top ASUN teams and maybe finish as high as third? Is that based on the MD win? Is this saying that the ASUN top teams are now better and a team like MI would hope to finish in the top three? Either way it seems a rather random comparison. I do think that Utah and Jacksonville are well positioned to lead the conference and create a good rivalry while elevating overall conference play at the same time. One term I always cringe when I see posted is "Blue Blood" programs. I think ASUN is proving that new teams are rising which is good for the game.

Wow! Utah is looking like, definitely, the best team in the conference. Just like someone asked regarding Jacksonville earlier this season, might we see the Utes go undefeated in conference play?

Jacksonville has looked wretched since that loss to Utah,
surprising considering they’re stacked on offense,

on the other hand, Robert Morris has a history of turning it on at tournament time.

I am not usually one to criticize teams on this forum, but I have to say that the Jacksonville v Robert Morris game was one of the worst exhibitions of lacrosse that I have seen in a LONG time. Each team had TWENTY ONE turnovers and most of them were simple passes or guys just dropping the ball out of their sticks with no pressure.

Not sure how the weather impacted this game in Pittsburgh, but it was brutal to watch.

Hard to believe that this Jacksonville team beat Duke this year. What an abomination.

Jacksonville didn’t look together at all,
looks like the mix didn’t work this year, like they expected it to just be handed to them,

Utah with McMinn plays a much much better brand of lacrosse,

Galloway is going to have to rethink his coaching philosophy.

It was a bad game.

But the Pittsburgh forecast said snow, freezing rain and high winds.

This looked and felt like a February game, not an early May game.

Seems like the transfer portal backfired mightily on a few teams this year…

Jacksonville’s defense, or lack thereof, didn’t help.

End of a long season with both teams playing on three days rest in a driving rain/sleet storm. What did you expect? Both teams also like to push pace which also leads to more turnovers and penalties. Kinda is what it is.

Both southern teams lose on a cold May Day in Pittsburgh. Was the weather the equalizer?

Without a doubt, the ASUN Tournament has been the most exciting so far. Congrats to the Utes for making the plays down the stretch and earning a 17-14 victory over Bellarmine!
