Who’s your 5?
This year it’s been pretty clear to me
Brennnan O’Neill
Pat Kavanagh
CJ Kirst
Gavin Adler
Connor Shellenberger - hard to be a finalist and not be your teams leading point scorer but still think he gets the nod
Tewaaraton Finalist
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
If we are talking the five best players in college lacrosse THIS YEAR it should be
Pat Kav
Gavin Adler
CJ Kirst
Xander Dickson
Brennan Oneil
The winner should be CJ Kirst
Pat Kav
Gavin Adler
CJ Kirst
Xander Dickson
Brennan Oneil
The winner should be CJ Kirst

Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
I don’t see how you can put Brett Makar in over O’Neill. Makar started out hot and has slowed down entirely with some not so impressive games. Zappitello should be in there over him if you want to pick a Maryland defenseman. Also respect the Dickinson pick I don’t disagree with that, but he didn’t make the top 25 sadly
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
I’ve got Adler and Kirst as the top two,
depends on where Cornell ends up,
Adler has been the most impressive player on the field so far.

Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Please stop with the Defenseman. It’s not going to happen. Makar and Zap are not the same caliber as Adler. Not even close.

Why would O’Neil be first please tell, because he was suppose to be or does he deserve based on his stats?laxerr20 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 10:03 amI do not know how but I totally forgot about Oneil. 71 points nicely distributed in goals and assists on the #1 team in the country.
In the biggest game of the year, the first UVA game: 9 points
In breaking their Syracuse Dome drought: 6 points.
He’s held up his end of the bargain.
Kirst SOG %: 61
Kirst SH%: 38
O’Neill SOG%: 64%
O’Neill SH%: 36%

That’s fair but you need to factor in the team rank as well as their SOS. He’s the best on the best.

Actually, I believe he is also FIRST in points per game as the player who was first was shutout this past Saturday by the player who is #1 on my list.lorin wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 12:41 pmKirst teams rank and SOS pretty good and he's 1 in GPG and Second in Points per game. he also is best of the best.Finster wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:52 amlorin wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:27 amhas of 4/26Finster wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:14 amlorin wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 10:55 amWhy would O’Neil be first please tell, because he was suppose to be or does he deserve based on his stats?laxerr20 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 10:03 amI do not know how but I totally forgot about Oneil. Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
Who is ahead of CJ in PPG? Right now, Mackesy has 45 goals and 20 assists for 65 points after 12 games after being shut out by Gavin Adler. That's 3.75 GPG and 5.417 PPG. CJ has 58 goals and 18 assists for 76 points after 13 games. That's 4.46 GPG and 5.846 PPG. I think CJ is #1 in both categories.lorin wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 12:41 pmKirst teams rank and SOS pretty good and he's 1 in GPG and Second in Points per game. he also is best of the best.Finster wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:52 amlorin wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:27 amhas of 4/26Finster wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:14 amlorin wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 10:55 amWhy would O’Neil be first please tell, because he was suppose to be or does he deserve based on his stats?laxerr20 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 10:03 amI do not know how but I totally forgot about Oneil. 1313,
That's correct. Last I checked, they haven't updated the stats using this past weekends game, so lorin was I believe basing it on the non-updated stats.
Mackesey being shutout and Kirst getting 3,3 moved him well into 1st in both categories.
I'm sorry I had to vote him 2nd but ADLER, has been so dominant this year.
Actually, my vote if allowed should be:
1a. ADLER
1b. KIRST

Not to get too deep into the weeds here, but there’s a freshman D on Lehigh who has 48 CT’s to Adler’s 20. More GB’s as well as points.
No way Adler wins the Tewey.
I can see Kirst getting it, but really, I think one of these guys, O’Neill, Kirst, or Shellenberger, will need to bring home the Ship to differentiate for the final vote.

Sometimes a point leader is a combination of (obviously) being a great player, but also a reflection on the team simply not having many other weapons.
Re: Tewaaraton Finalist
That’s not the case with Cornell.
