Not saying you are wrong. Who do you dream of as Navy's coach, though?TheGoat1999 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 2:13 pm Army dominated the game from start to finish. They were more physical, bigger, stronger, faster and executed a strong game plan. I hate saying it, but they were better prepared, and Coach A does an amazing job of long-term player development.
We just couldn’t put any pressure on them offensively, couldn’t run past their defender(s) and the ball died numerous times with “hero” ball. I previously mentioned that 24 would come into the game earlier and play significant minutes even though he hasn’t been at practice, weight room or film for two weeks.
Listen, It’s Army v. Navy on Nation Television, it’s the starting Navy QB, “Five Star” recruit from LI……..All the talking point….but if your not pulling your weight with the team, not attending practices, not participating in the weight room and not attending film or scout film. Do you deserve to bump another player that has been grinding and has finally broken into the starting lineup?
Plus, I would argue…Why would you pull 2 for 24 and not pull 9. Why is 10 pulled at all, 10 is a work horse! 64,6 and 43 just couldn’t get anything going. 28, 32 and 51 had some success and needed to get more runs! 64 has had tremendous success from inverting but for some reason against Army he was dodging from the wing and up top. That’s not his game and Army was quick to go!
Defensively, Navy gave up some motion goals, pick plays and other times our SSDM were just physically dominated to the cage.
Navy made zero adjustments after halftime. What the F…. is that… Zero adjustments.
Maybe try another Man-Up unit ! 0-4 on the Man-up...
Poor coaching, lack preparation/game plan, lack of discipline and lack of common sense cost the MIDS again.

24 did not start the game or the 2nd half. According to the tv guys, 24 practiced all week.TheGoat1999 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 2:13 pm Plus, I would argue…Why would you pull 2 for 24 and not pull 9. In Q1, 24 played only as a MF. He first entered at 5:31 remaining in Q1 via the MF (w/2,9,10 @ attack) That quickly became an EMO. 24 entered 2 more times via the MF in Q1. {all times are time remaining}
In Q2 ; 2,9,24 started at attack. 24 scored @ 11:18. Then on the Navy's next possession @ 10:32 it was 24,9,10. for the rest of Q2
In Q3 & Q4 : 2, 9,10 started at attack. 24 entered via MF @ 7:46 of Q3, then remained on at attack, with 2,9,10 splitting time the rest of the game.
I don't have access to the p.t. chart, but it appears the time at attack was split fairly evenly.
43,64,6,32,51,28, 2, 9,10 all had opportunities to make plays & do their thing.
Agree that 10's a workhorse, got open for 3 feeds to him on the crease but no finish.
24 was Navy's leading scorer with 2 goals. 24 was on the field for 5 of 6 Navy's goals.
24 was not the problem, nor were substitution patterns & play calling.
It was execution & superior play by Army in all phases.

Yes, I say Amplo, too. I think he is great for Navy. However, as for people who want him gone, I am curious to know who they would like to see come who is a REALISTIC replacement. For me, their argument will never have any validity unless they answer the question when I ask it.ExLax wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 10:26 pmANS: Joe Amplogymman1031 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 2:22 pmNot saying you are wrong. 'OIC' said the blind man to his deaf wife.....YES, who else? D1 coaches deserve a runway to institute their program and culture and Amplo deserves that respect and more IMHO.gymman1031 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 2:07 pmYes, I say Amplo, too. I like the bold emphasis REALISTIC replacement - I was just waiting for names like Tilman or Meade or even Petro to pop up again and I would have to shut down FanLax to avoid a coronary or associated angst

Omg u act like your replacing Bill Tierney, it’s one of the highest paid jobs in D1, Shay would be a good fit.ExLax wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 7:46 pm'OIC' said the blind man to his deaf wife.....YES, who else? 6. Army has taken the time to build a strong foundation and invested in each players development
I wouldn't be surprised if 24 was back on the field for considerable PT. Amplo is willing to "make considerable changes" and players will just have to "accept their roles" So look for 9, 10 and 24 to get considerable time. I personally think that 2, 10 and 14 should be on the field for considerable time.
I am sick and tired of hearing about Amplo kicking the entire TEAM out of practice, being unprofessional with degrading remarks about individual players in front of the team, looking the other way on players conduct on/off the field and NOT treating his staff with more respect.
Head/Heart is always with the MIDS. This turd is getting nutty.

2 NCAA bids in 17 years is "making it?"
Only 1 NCAA first-round win in 17 years.
Rick Sowell had a similar May record. In half the years.

Re: Navy 2023
I think the one thing we are learning from the last two HC hires, Service Academy experience is key. That eliminates a lot of the names on the list and would start with:
-Tillman (he is not coming)
-Toomey (he is not coming)
-Brecht (Army Assistant)
And then moves to:
-Moran (UMBC)
-Wellner
-Reppert
-Seremet (former Air Force HC)
If you consider Assistants at Army:
-Georgalas

Believe it or not, I would not count out Tillman not coming if the job opens up again when he is still going strong. Yes, Maryland is a bigger program and has a lot more to offer in recruiting, but:Laxinmay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:11 am I think the one thing we are learning from the last two HC hires, Service Academy experience is key. 1. No one can love Annapolis and Navy Lacrosse more than Tills does.
2. He lives in Annapolis.
3. Other than maybe go back to back as national champs, to be honest, he has very little, if anything, left to accomplish at Maryland.
Trust me, many Maryland fans know and believe this well, and they are hoping that Amplo is at Navy for a long, long time because of it.

As I have said, Reppert was my original top choice back in 2019. Maybe he would do well at Navy. However, regardless of how hard it has been to win at Holy Cross, I would assume he needs to improve things to ever be considered by Navy.Laxinmay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:11 am I think the one thing we are learning from the last two HC hires, Service Academy experience is key. One more thing. Maybe Tills dreams of being the coach who leads Navy to its first national title since the NCAA Tournament began in 1971. Of course, he was an assistant on their first team to make the title game(in 2004).gymman1031 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 12:17 pmBelieve it or not, I would not count out Tillman not coming if the job opens up again when he is still going strong. Navy v Bucknell Predictions?
A Navy win would guarantee a playoff game at home next Tuesday. That would be really nice given all the adversity this season.
