Annual check in here from me...
As it comes down to the end of the year, what coaches are on the hot seat for finding a new home for next season? Any big names to get cut loose this summer?

Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D1
There's been murmurs of a possible Tierney stepping down/retirement. But they've been mediocre forever there and there's never been a hint/suggestion he's on the hot seat so it'd have to be something along those lines.
Obviously Breschi's contract status is the biggest question.

Not just a murmer, he announced his retirement before the season started.jrn19 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 2:14 pm There's been murmurs of a possible Tierney stepping down/retirement. I'm sure he is talking about the Hofstra coach, Seth Tierney-- not Bill.

The elder at Denver, the younger at Hofstra.

There is no evidence at all to say Hofstra cares about wins and losses. Given that, unless there is some off the field issue I presume Tierney will stay until he decides to leave on his own.
Meyers at OSU?
Daly at Brown?
Breschi at UNC?

Myers just got a contract extension. Daly made the tournament last year. At some point in the next month we’ll find out whether they renewed or will not renew Breschi’s contract

If your definition of big is B1G/ACC/Ivy then no, extremely unlikely outside of whatever happens with Carolina and who knows there.
I mean, Tierney retiring was major, just didn't happen in the offseason. Guess there's the chance a Danowski or Corrigan joins as they're in that range but doesn't seem like they're showing any inclination.
But the only job approaching the ones we've had in the past decade like Maryland (2010), Virginia (2016), Hopkins (2020), Syracuse (2021) opening that looks like it could is North Carolina and that's really only because they allowed Breschi to enter the season without a new contract.

Hypothetical time. Been thinking about this the last week or so. Let's say North Carolina parts ways with Breschi. Who are the top candidates for that job? I've got a few people in mind but was wondering what others thought.

Is Galloway young enough to wait for Syracuse?
Edit to add: Based on the progress I see this year, he may have to wait a long time.

It's a big enough job that they'd probably be able to at least bring an unexpected big name in to interview. Shay? Tambroni? Perhaps of note, Matt Madalon's brother played at Carolina. Never wise to bet against an Ivy coach leaving for another big job.

Isn't it about time the Bernhardts start getting mentioned for HC jobs?HopFan16 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 7:56 amMentioned this in another thread but it's more appropriate here.
