Nice W for St. A's 10-8 in DC and St. John's is very impressive as expected and certainly a top 10 team. I have to say in all my years (yes I am old) of watching high school I am hard pressed to remember a more impressive start by a team than St. A's this year, who have played one of the more difficult schedules of which I can think.

For my money (which is very little) the top three teams in the country are (1) St. A's (2) Manhasset (3) Chaminade and should be ranking accordingly. The gap between the top three is minimal and I believe any of the top 3 could beat each other on any day.

Continuing to beat a dead horse, lets see if IL does the right thing and ranks them 1-2-3 if they can stomach having that kind of LI representation.
I’ll save you the suspense; not happening.

I agree St A’s start is one for the ages, and I too can’t remember anything more impressive….i think there was a year McDonagh went undefeated (or very close to it) in the MIAA plus against some top PA schools.

Manhasset used to play StA’s close in recent years, and I wish we still had that measuring stick game. I suppose we’ll find out a lot when they play Chaminade (and CSH and GC). Tbh I’d hold off on rating them so high just yet because we know these other private schools are so stacked, and I think Manhasset has to prove they belong by playing them well

No doubt. Also shows how tough it is to travel, which highlights how great St Anthony’s is doing. That game vs St John’s was pretty impressive athleticism by both teams

It is true that McDonogh has assembled an excellent team; and I use that word advisedly. Transfer portal wide open in Owings Mills.

:^) Is their transfer portal of a different mass or gravitational pull than StA’s and Chaminade?

I am given to understand that many enter as other than Freshmen and also hail from far flung areas; so, to those extents, yes.

Makes sense….i remember Manhasset losing kids to places like Deerfield (not just Chaminade), so there are some schools, especially boarding schools, that pull more than just local talent

The Friars' best player this year is from Westhampton. I consider that to be a far flung area!

Westhampton is a far flung area, especially if you are doing the dropping off and picking up...

Down to 5 undefeated teams on LI (plus St Anthony's)

Manhasset
Mount Sinai
BBP
Northport
Roslyn

Roslyn hosts South Side tonight so that will probably be it for them.

And Mt Sinai is playing BBP tomorrow. The winner of this game probably has the best chance to finish the season undefeated.

3 obvious games coming up for Manhasset that I’m paying close attention to (no idea how good Ridgefield or Rumson are).
- CSH, I don’t care about their record, they’ve played good competition all year and Bonn is probably going to figure out how to make this a 6-5 game
- GC, FOs and goalie play are key imo…if both teams hold to form it wouldn’t be a close game because Manhasset would dominate both, but GC will spit that Texas dust out of their mouths and defend their home turf hard
- Chaminade, they always save their best game for Manhasset. If the Indians were somehow from CT they could probably sneak up on them

Northport….is this about waiting for WM?
