Trinity looked scary tonight. Really feel like they can beat anyone.

Great win for Trinity. Would think Wesleyan would have to get to the CAC final to even have a chance. Bantams to the 7th or 6th seed if they can go to Hamilton and win.

St Lawrence proved they are for real going the distance. Big win for Midd.
Anyone care to predict where St Lawrence would be in the pecking order if they were playing in the NESCAC?

Why? Nescac moved Clinton NY to New England, not sure it can move Canton there too.

The NESCAC does an amazing job of devouring itself during the second half of the season.

Jostling with Bowdoin and Wesleyan to avoid going on the road in the conference tourney.

I stand corrected - I guess penalty minutes don't matter.

I watched the Midd - SLU game yesterday. Tons of turnovers on both sides. Plenty of sloppy play with a lot of unforced turnovers as well as a lot of forced turnovers by Midd. Bottom line, the score indicated how close these teams were yesterday. I know that Midd (Midd homer here) can play better, and I'll use the midweek bus ride hill and dale from Vermont to Canton as an excuse, but both teams were very good at not taking care of the ball in crucial situations particularly at the end of the game. It was a big game for both teams and maybe sticks were getting gripped a little too tightly. Panthers were fortunate to get the w today. This is Midd's 3rd one goal game of the year, and they have eked out the win in all 3.

Conn over Bates - 15-7 - Conn getting hot at the right time and Bates not as strong (yet) as I expected them to be under Annino.
Midd over Colby - 14-9 - Mules looked stronger than expected against Bowdoin/Amherst and could give the Pants trouble if the offense isn't clicking and if the poor man-up showing continues.
Hammy over Trinity - 12-8 - Colonials ride Wednesday's upset to a win over the other surprising upstart in the NESCAC.
Tufts over Wes - 21-14 - Up-tempo offense and transition is Cardinals' kryptonite.
Amherst over Williams - 14-12 - Lord Jeffs scuffling a little right now (see Colby/Conn games), but not enough to fall to the Ephs. I’m tempted to think Williams could rebound from Wednesday enough to catch the Mammoths napping, so this game may be the best chance for an upset.

Wes 18-14 (Jumbos throw a game so they don't go into RIT undefeated)

Midd 17-8 (Colby = the cure for special teams woes)

Hamilton 16-10 (Has Trin ever won B2B conference games?)

Amherst 15-13 (Williams is a very solid team that has been singlehandedly derailed by its performance at the X (or lack thereof))

Conn 9-7 (who cares)

Bowdoin not playing lacrosse this weekend in solidarity with their Tennessee state representative.

The Tufts-Wes game OMG. Wes is playing terrible lacrosse or they are just a terrible team.

Some games Tufts is in their flow and there is not going to be anything you can do about it, can’t let them play at that tempo. Huge OT win for Williams over Amherst after letting a late lead get away. Trinity comes back and holds on vs Hamilton. They should beat Colby next. That leaves a home game vs Amherst as the only thing standing between Tarnow and NESCAC coach of the year. 🫠

Final score from VT 22-12. Very complete showing from the Panthers who were in control wire to wire.

Logan White, Will Zink, Billy Curtis, Drew Drummer, Jake Peluso and Russell Thorndike contributed a pair each and netminder Hayden Kern had 15 stops.

Panthers had the slight edge at the faceoff X but were a perfect 21-21 on clears and had only 13 turnovers. Midd pulled most of their starters in the 4th and Colby scored 5 unanswered goals otherwise the score would have been even more lopsided.

Looks like the Panthers are just starting to hum at the perfect time! Excited to see how they fare in their non-conference matchup versus Babson tomorrow... my guess is they''ll be wearing beaver pelt jackets to dinner after the game.

Final score prediction... 16-11 Midd.

Did you meant to say Tarnow or were you referring to D'Annolfo for COY?

D'Annolfo is also a lock for 1st team all shoe game. I heard Phil Knight himself is designing a custom pair of Jordan 4s for D'Annolfo at the NESCAC tourney.

As I posted earlier today, Wes struggles this year with up-tempo offenses and transition. Midd was able to exploit that last weekend and Tufts just piled on. Coach Raba will figure it out and the Cards will be back.

Panthers are an impressively balanced team - defense, clearing, rides, faceoffs and transition have been very good all season, but settled offense has sputtered at times ... Colby neutralized the crease camping today, but Midd had outside shooters who stepped up. Man-up is still a concern and Babson will be a stern test tomorrow, but I am starting to hope for a Midd/Tufts rematch in the NESCAC playoffs.
