Agreed.
With the loss, Cornell drops to #7 RPI. The issue is that of the 6 teams in front of them, only one will get an AQ, meaning Cornell is down to the #6 (of 8) spot in at-large qualifying (I know it's not as simple as that, but just a high-level view of RPI metrics).
In other words, things have just become far more precarious for the Big Red.
That said, this is a very good team with a great coaching staff. I only watched the first quarter (listened to the last 3 in the car), but it seemed like Cornell was plagued with sloppy play and hindered by a number of great saves by the Harvard goalie. Cornell is a better team than what we saw yesterday and I'm confident that they'll be ready for Marquette on Tuesday. And hats off to Harvard for an exceptional game, especially defensively: after Cornell's 3-goals-in-4-minutes to open the game, they held a Cornell team averaging 20 goals/game over their last three outings to only 5 goals in the final 56 minutes. Just astonishing...
