Top Patriot League contenders BU visit Navy Friday evening. Let's see if Navy can at least make this a competitive game. Predictions?

Based on short interview with Xavier Arline on this wk Sing2nd pod, we might see him vs BU, depending on when "next week" is.
Also insightful interview with a MLax alum who bridges the last 3 Head Coaches tenures. MLax talk starts @18:19

Just listened. What I heard is a student athlete determined, and commentators hinting that the new football offense may demand he is there unless he wants to claw back up the depth chart.

I also heard an interesting comment when asked about the feeling of a new beginning and opportunity with new FB staff, 'change is good, I believe, when needed'.

Since 24 hasn’t practice with the lacrosse team in over 2 weeks because of football, I doubt he will be on the field tonight. But stranger things have happened.

Does anybody have any insight into why, 33 didn’t see any playing time at HC. He’s the most athletic of all the defenders, has proven to be one of Navy’s best competitors and is perfectly healthy.

Glad to see 6 making an impact, all he needed was a chance to play. Unfortunate that 28 and 29 are out, but good to see 6 stepping into that scoring role from the Midfield.

Give 4, 5, 2 and 51 some more playing time! Glad to see 51 get the bump last week at HC.

Keep the ball spinning and aggressively attack when you have numbers.

Speaking of coaching opportunities, Coach Orsen to Denver? The national search is already in full swing, and I am sure he is a front runner! They would love to have him back !

Heart with the MIDS........But, BU 15 Navy 7

LOS ANGELES – UCLA head football coach Chip Kelly announced Friday the hiring of Ken Niumatalolo, Navy's all-time leader in head-coaching wins, as the Bruins' director of leadership. In the position, Niumatalolo will serve as an advisor to UCLA football's staff and student-athletes

Navy D playing a strong game this first half, has BU forcing everything. From their attack. They are picking on 47 SSDM

Mid 3rd qtr. Offense tonight looks sharper without 24. When he was in for a run it slowed down. Just more fluid.

#9 shooting stroke and body language is frustrating. Drops his shoulder and stick, everything is low. Need to mix it up.

1-minute locked penalty could have been a dagger if they toes it up. Made it out only giving up 1. 6-5 Navy, start of 4th.

#9 with a chance to seal a 2 goal lead with 3+ min. Remaining and again dropping shoulder and stick to a low to low shot.

Hell yea!!

10-8 Navy.

We back ! Holding BU's potent offense to just 8 goals was like wrestling with a rattlesnake.

I am quite sure the coaches saw that as well, was in and out in under a few minutes.

That was the first time we saw 4 entire quarters of locked in lacrosse. That one full time penalty in the 4th could have been a major flip in momentum, thankfully BU only got 1 goal out of it.

Back on March 12th after the Manhattan game my bullet points (iii), (vi) and (Vii) appear to making progress on the field, as witnessed last evening.

Coupled with a follow up on March 17th, the team has made some significant strides. Credit to all on the team.

Same for the defense from March 22nd Orsen orchestrated a great game plan to extend pressure, limit slides, very limited and timely stick checks to keep their feet matched, while owning their 1v1 matchups. And when they did slide it was appropriately deliberate and limited.

I am also very happy for #2, been a big fan of his when he walked on the yard....he was still working out some kinks and some game experience has served him rather well. Great poise inside last evening.

Navy finally played a complete 60 min for the first time this season (and against a quality opponent).
Hope they can build on this win.

Nice performance by Navy! They finally put it together for sixty minutes. I would bet money they make the conference tournament now.

Unfortunately they’ll moat likely end up in the play-in bracket unless they win out. Winning 3 games in 5 days in the PL tourney is a dagger.

Yep! That is very true. However, before last night, it was looking like they may not make it at all. And, if they win their first game in it, they would be more in the game-groove going into the semis than their opponent.

That is a good question. I do think that, as long as Navy beats both Bucknell and Lafayette, they are in for sure. Regardless of what happens vs. Army and Loyola.
