Live Game Action
Re: Live Game Action
Fenny taking the low hanging fruit and running with it. Seems like a minute or 2 in the box would let them cool their jets for a minute.
Re: Live Game Action
Notre Dame 10 Brown 7 with 11:00 to play in the 3rd.
Re: Live Game Action
ND 13 Brown 7 - ND scores 3 in under 2 mins
Re: Live Game Action
Halfpenny must be reading this board ... she turns the team volume up to 11 and just like that ND is up 13 - 7.

Re: Live Game Action
ND 15 - 7

Re: Live Game Action
ND 17 Brown 7 End of the 3rd - running clock for the Irish
Re: Live Game Action
19-7 ND - ND is stat padding at this point
Re: Live Game Action
The score was 10–7 with 11 minutes to go in the third quarter. Notre Dame scored the last 11 goals of the game, but only two in the last 10 minutes. How is that stat padding? Are they supposed to hold the ball for 90 seconds and then roll it in the corner? You’re blaming Notre Dame when it looks like Brown collapsed.

Re: Live Game Action
Totally agree. Winning teams have no obligation to take foot off the gas. You don’t want to get spanked by notre dame? Don’t schedule them. If ND coach doesn’t use the 4th quarter to clear her bench, that’s her decision and she can manage the disappointed players. But brown should be ready to play ND straight up for 60 minutes. End of story…

When your best player scores the 19th goal of the game I consider that stat paddingnjbill wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 6:32 pmThe score was 10–7 with 11 minutes to go in the third quarter. Re: Live Game Action
Notre Dame’s 19th goal was scored by Kristen Shanahan, a sub. It was her second goal of the game, scored with about 12 minutes to go. How is that stat padding?
Re: Live Game Action
ahhh....but the 20th was by Ms Choma for her 3rd of the day and 33rd of the year?
This does not seem uncommon in blowout wins across the spectrum.
Re: Live Game Action
Yeah, maybe he was talking about that goal, but he did say the 19th.
Agree, it’s not uncommon. This is D1 lacrosse, not beanbag.

Re: Live Game Action
Small nit, but Kenney is shown in the box score as being a sub. It was her only goal of the day and her sixth of the season.
I think you are being unfair to Choma, accusing her of stat padding. I don’t think a third goal scored with 10 minutes to go in a game that had been relatively competitive (three goal lead) well into the third quarter constitutes stat padding. If you do, then we disagree about that.

Re: Live Game Action
I have no issue with ND or any other team letting their starters run up the score late.
However, I also wouldn't have a problem with the other team laying out a couple of the starters in the same situation.

Re: Live Game Action
In other words, play with the intent to make solid contact, play outside the rules, throw the responsible for one another's safety out the window and play for red cards? What do you mean by laying someone out in wlax?
Re: Live Game Action
I don't love it when coaches keep their starters in when it is a running clock. Get your other players some quality playing time. You may need them later in the season.njbill wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 10:44 am Small nit, but Kenney is shown in the box score as being a sub. Re: Live Game Action
according to the box score, ND played 14 subs. (non-starters). To me that seems like a good number of girls coming off the bench who usually don't see a lot of playing time.
looked at the Syracuse and Virginia games and ND only played 7 subs in each of those games.
