To anyone there it is pretty obvious W&L is better in every area but 1 and they are terrible there. Goalie play. Not only was Boyd under 40% but he failed two clears under no pressure at the end qtrs that ended in goals.

You must watched a different game Insider. Those two teams are evenly matched. Lynchburg goalie played a great game, but young Hornet’s turned the ball over way too often. They tighten that up and it’s a different game. The rematch in May will be fun to watch.

Is anyone tuned into the CNU v HSC game?

The tiger defense looks tough so far. Not sure if the HSC offense will be able to give them the points they need to keep this lead though.

They had 20 TOs. W&L had 15 CTs. They struggled to generate great O throughout the game aside from the 2nd qtr. unfortunately all they had to do was just hit the goal. W&Ls goalie had 9 saves. 4-5 of his saves just hit him.

HSC is just the better team. They've proven it week in-week out. Sources say CNU was relaxing on the beach earlier today because they weren't worried about Jason Rostan's Tigers. Huge mistake.

Final score prediction:
HSC 12 - CNU 6

All true. However, Generals missed a ton of shots. Hadley stopped many that were actually on goal. Most were not even close.

7 unanswered for CNU - playing make it take it at the dot. HSC has got to get shots on cage to hang in the 4th.

HSC keep looking excellent IMO. Time split for 3rd quarter was rough. Can't play defense the whole quarter and not give up a few.

I love the tiger defense but their offense has no ability to beat anyone 1v1 and isn’t backing up any shots. Not moving the ball on their running breaks.. hard to put goals in the net that way

5. HSC - They seemed to have put it back together last year but have lost it this year. We need to see them play more ODAC talent and Will Perry needs to prove that he's not the same chubby hothead he has been in years past.

KnowingWizardofODAC wrote: Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:02 pm Ok fellow fans of the ODAC, here is my midseason end of the year rankings, this could change by next week depending on how this weekend shakes out:

1. W&L - Enough has been said about them and their firepower. With that being said they will need to prove themselves against Lynchburg if they want to maintain this ranking on my list. I do however see these Freshmen reaching their point this year and the Generals finding their way to the middle of the ODAC in these coming years.

2. Lynchburg - Again we all know what they are, the machines of the ODAC. They will need to defeat W&L if they want to boost themselves in my rankings. Maybe Coudelka needs to look into the coaching at his alma mater of Gettysburg and getting a fresh start with a team that actually has a rich culture.

3. Roanoke - One of the up and coming teams, but to reiterate a point that seems to be looming over this forum, Pilat needs to be let go, his ways are in the past. It is also known that Kammerman is a one season wonder, he is not the truth. They will not be able to reach their full potential with that ball hog constantly on the field.

4. Bridgewater - A team that is very young but seems to find a way to grind it out. We will see what they are made of this weekend. We need to see if this young team can pull it together against a team with such firepower as St. Mary's.

5. HSC - They seemed to have put it back together last year but have lost it this year. We need to see them play more ODAC talent and Will Perry needs to prove that he's not the same chubby hothead he has been in years past.

6. Randolph Macon - We believe that Randy Mac is consistently overhyped, they will be staying near the middle of the ODAC if they do not allow Jack Smith to play his game. Seriously, they need to take the shackles off that kid and let him be free. The Jackets will need to pull it together they want to advance in the ODAC.

7. Va Wes - Shenandoah can lick their boot. The way that the Hornets have played this year it is finally time for the Marlins to step back into the coveted ODAC playoffs. They have an experienced defense ready to take that next step in ODAC play.

8. Shenandoah - They have fallen off Completely, after graduating essentially their whole offense they can't seem to put the pages together. Their defense is also going in the dumps, the only thing this team seems to have is a great goalie that can't get a defense to bail him out. Kids getting peppered more than pasta.

9,10,11,12,13 - These teams can be in any order, they are all warm up games for the other teams in the ODAC. The only film you can get that makes them look good are the games against teams like Brevard and Oglethorpe.
Crazy take after seeing Bridgewater lose 24-5 to a St Mary’s team that lost to Lynchburg Macon and only beat Shenandoah by 3. Also think Va Wes should be in bottom 9 through 13 and Guilford in top 8

This is actually hysterical. Nothing more than a cry for help from a closet bridgewater fan whose team will maybeeee win 2 more games this year over averett and va Wes.. maybe.

What a game. LYN and the Gennies are a notch above NOKE / HSC. Hoping they meet again, on Shellenburger.
LYN starting 3 Freshman @ attack had 6 TO’s but their production and hard rides gave W&L fits. Good 2nd line Mid. production. When they’re in they field 4 Freshman #30 and Soph. #6 and Sr. McCarthy....Dylan Wolfe was still on crutches. His left and Mitchell’s dominant right complimented each other. His outside shooting is missed but Grant Voight #2 does fine and helps their inside game, along with #38 on attack who has a great inside game. This offense is the better of the 2 IMO. Excellent ball movement work for choose shots. They struggle with the zone W&L slipped into after LYN’s run. They also seem to struggle late protecting a lead and play tentative / tight. Up 5 with 4:16 in 2nd.... have to close the door and crush hope.
Same for Defense. They play great team D. 4 SSDMs hold their own and give up shots from angle, area and distance they know Hadley can see but have to close door.
Hats off to W&L. Heartbreaker after that onslaught. Boots Lackey was outstanding. 3 pole goals is unheard of! Burns is one tough cover with ice in his veins. Knowing he wants to take that lefty shot he still had 3. FO’s were fairly equal but the Generals wings won the 50/50’s. Kraus had the draws but couldn’t pick up ball due pressure.
In the end, accepting the 25 seconds gift, Coach K threw the curve ball working Mitchell over to right side and Rust taking point. Hadn’t seen it all night and they capitalized..

W&L - 8 Transition Goals of 13
LYN - 2 Transition Goals of 14

Who was struggling creating offense? W&L had to resort to zone because they couldn’t match up man to man. Lynchburg playing against the zone with 5 righties and a lefty hurt, until the end when they decided to start with the lefty to the 2 righties. How many soft goals do you think he gave up?

Hopefully they meet again, which they should, in the ODAC championship because it will should be a good game.

I think W&L has a slightly better team talent wise than Lynchburg. The differential was goal play. Honestly anything that hit the cage was probably going in. At the other end, the Lynchburg goalie played an outstanding game. He was the difference. It would be a good idea if some of the W&L players would change the plane on their shots. So many times they drop their sticks and go low to low. Hoping they have a great outing against HSC in ALL 4 qtrs, you cannot show up until the second half

Think if HSC can play like they did the first half vs CNU all 4 quarters could pull an upset against WL. Still think WL pulls through with a 13-8 win.

I agree there could be an upset if W&L doesn’t get off the bus ready to go. The genies will have to play fast against this tiger defense. If this is a slow game, I could see a 1-2 goal game going either way.
