HE Galleria dell’Accademia museum in Florence has taken the unprecedented step of updating one of the most iconic pieces of art in the history of humanity, stating the need to increase visitors as the reason for doing so.
Michelangelo’s David, a marble statue seen as a near perfect study in human anatomy, will be given a great big 14 inch penis, the short that makes a thud sound as it strikes the inner thigh when in motion, after a review into reduced tourist numbers at the museum was concluded.
“He got a big ‘ole dick now, tourists gonna love it,” confirmed curator at the museum Carlo Antonelli, “selfies and memes opportunities, leaning tower of Pisa type poses, David’s got it all now. He’s packing some serious heat in his drawers now,” added Antonelli, despite the fact David historically went and continues to go commando.
Lovingly realised and carved by contemporary sculptor Giorgio Diodati, the new enhanced appendage took 8 months to complete.

I know who Charlie Christian is. Benny was the first to integrate his band. He just wanted good musicians. It was a swinging band.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 10:04 amInteresting side note to Benny Goodman. The David sculpture is called art, not pornoghry, for obvious reasons. Men, 'equiped' like David, can feel better about themselves.
You ever see a "black" David statue? I have. Located in Savin Hill, MA. Find a picture of "black" David statue, and tell me that just changing the face, and penis size, makes it more like "porn" than art.
Former US Senator Scott Brown was a centerfold.......never got to see his penis size tho. .....
really, wondering, where you have lived that consider male nudity OK. Please, explain away....
I used to frequent all of the big museums in NYC for many years and know about all that stuff. You obviously don't know very much about Western art. If you knew anything about it, you'd know Western art has multiple examples such as:

I love this video. In 1941 very few musicians could play this new jazz type of music. The amplified guitar was almost unknown in 1941 when this was recorded. So many of the jazz, country western and r&b musicians of the 1950s owe a huge debt to the influence of the guitar genius of Charlie Christian.

I love jazz, it has been a major influence to so many musicians across the musical spectrum. Elvis Presley captured the sound of the music he listened to from black musicians in the early 50s and copied style and content. If my memory serves me correct Isaac Hayes had no fondness for Elvis. He always believed Elvis ripped off the sound of 1950s black musicians and never gave credit where credit was due. Jackie Wilson died broke after being ripped off by the white music executives that recorded his music. Elvis could not have matched Jackie Wilsons talent on his best day.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 11:54 amI probably have about 3,000 jazz albumscradleandshoot wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 11:48 amYour the exception to the rule. They do have a right since this concerns what is being taught to their kids and what the curriculum is. Mark Twain novels need to be censored for racial slurs. Mark Twain composed his books using the vernacular of his era. Todays school children are incapable of understanding the context of how Mark Twain composed his stories. A good teacher especially an English teacher should be able to explain this to his/her students before they read the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. The controversy today where I live has school libraries having to defend a book named " This Book is Gay. If students can understand the context of how Mark Twain wrote they can understand the context of a book titled this book is gay. When I was in HS 50 years ago there was a huge stigma against gay or more feminine male students. They were judged harshly and became outcasts in their own school. I had a very good friend in HS who fit that description to a tee. Nobody at my Catholic HS was a huge fan of Paul White man, Benny Goodman and the big band music of the 1940s, Jerry was though. My grandmother had a huge collection of these big band records and a bunch of magazines from that era that she was happy to give him. Jerry never conformed with what everybody else was doing or what music they were listening to. He stayed true to who he was. He played the tuba in our high school band. Jerry was the only person I knew in HS who never cared what other people said about him. He did his own thing and loved doing it. I use to joke with him that he was born 50 years to late. So a book in a HS library titled this book is gay should traumatize some parents? You can only fear what you don't know. My good friend put up with untold insults and humiliation all through 4 years of HS. I was always proud to have him as a friend. I have not been in touch with him in a long time. We both had the same thing in common, we never quite fit in with the popular kids. I was the long haired Black Sabbath/ Alice Cooper fan. He loved the 1940s big band music. Why some parents are traumatized by a book named this Book is Gay is beyond me.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:50 pmI know….. we are going to let the “parents” decide what is taught in schools…. Elvis could not have matched Jackie Wilsons talent on his best day.
Same with the Hispanic musicians/composers of Fania All Stars ~ they were all broke while the white executives took in millions. Sam Cooke had a worse fate: he demanded that blacks get the money for all the records into their pockets and was assassinated by a Mafia hit woman for his efforts.

Charlie Christian was way ahead of his time. Sadly he passed away in 1942. I didn't post the link but his guitar playing on swing to bop is amazing stuff given it was recorded in 1941. That might be the best guitar music ever recorded in that era. The next generation of jazz musicians that recorded in the 1950s owe a huge debt to Charlie Christian. He was truly a brilliant guitarist.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 10:21 amI know who Charlie Christian is. Benny was the first to integrate his band. He just wanted good musicians. He had a very talented guitar player named Charlie Christian who played an amplified Gibson hollow body in some of Goodman's recording sessions. Very few of these early recording sessions exist and few people if any are aware that Charlie Christian was the first guitar player to play an amplified guitar in that era of big band music. He was brilliant and way before his time. It was a big deal that Benny Goodman was so infatuated with this talented black guitarist that he let him play and record with his band.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 9:53 amI am a Fletcher Henderson and Duke Ellington guy. There is a lot of real estate between "don't start teaching my 7 yr old about anal sex" and "we are going to arbitrarily send you to jail if we don't like how you teach" --- just saying. We'd be better governed if we collected a bunch of chimpanzees and put them in charge.

Sad but true. So many great black song writers/singers/musicians all went broke because the Mafia controlled record producing industry grabbed all the money and gave them a mere pittance every year. This is why so many went to France and England so that they could make the money denied them here. Also sad is the fact that the news media and entertainment industry kept this evil a great big secret.

This teacher nails it.
No left. No right. Just simply: Elected School Boards.......get the F out of our way.....you and the stupid, uneducated, untrained parents who don't know the first thing about education......and let us do our jobs.
It's this simple. Let the teachers teach. Let THEM make the calls. Don't like it? Home school. Private School.
What we're doing now, saddling these teachers with whatever the "I read it on the internet" flavor of the week is? CLEARLY isn't working.
