Adler continues to be such a tremendous defender. Hats off to his play.

That was among the worst broadcasts of a game I have experienced. The camera was so far away and the picture so out of focus that I could not make out numbers or follow the ball most of the time. I am amazed that nobody went to the camera operator at any point during the game and told him/her to zoom in and focus. That is likely why the highlights are almost from goal replays that were zoomed in...... Very disappointing.

Different sport but surprised that Big Red faithful including JoeWillie haven't mentioned that two Cornell wrestlers won national titles this weekend powering Cornell to finish third as team.

Yianni Diakomihalis became a rare four time NCAA champion and Vito Arujau dominated his final . Tough tough sport, congrats to both.

Now back to your regular scheduling

Q did a nice job per usual handling his end, on the floor
commentary, post match interviews,

unfortunately for Quint, he needs to realize he’s dealing with
wrestlers, not lacrosse players 8-)
- else he did a solid job.

My experience, not everyone’s, wrestlers aren’t exactly the
most verbose of student-athletes.

Sure, but I thought Q handled it about as well as possible. He's been doing this gig for a while now.

Also a different sport, but congrats to the Big Red Hockey team for making the big dance. After the loss to Harvard Friday and Colgate's surprise run the the ECAC titla (and AQ), I was afraid the Big Red would be on the outside looking in. A tough draw against 4-seed Denver, but getting there is half the battle.

Rather shocked that the ECAC got 4 teams in, actually.

(On a side note, nice to see Colgate shock the world and get the AQ, too. Well, the hockey world, anyway).

Interestingly, hockey uses a strict mathematical formula for at-large tournament selection, essentially RPI but with quite different weights. No one screams about the committee screwing them over, it's all in the math.

Historically, this has not favored the ECAC over the western conferences; hence my surprise. Has all of the realignment in the midwest/west changed this?

I think one of the differences is the larger sample size in hockey; 30+ games (some teams have played 40) vs. ~13 with lacrosse. RPI in lacrosse has too small a sample size to be as effective. That said, I'm typically against the strict mathematical formula. They don't use it for NCAA basketball; RPI is just one of the data points they consider, which is as it should be.

Either way, Go Big Red! I'd love to see them in the Frozen Four again. Pretty sure the games will be televised on ESPN+ too.

Did I read that Firth has ZERO stars from IL?That's absurd. The dude is a monster on a great team. He goes both ways and shoots equally both ways, looks fast and athletic and gives 100% from what I could tell.
If that Dude has ZERO stars, then Joewillie78 must have been about minus 100 stars in high school.
Heck, I dropped the damn water cooler 9 out of 10 times.

The hockey RPI formula favors a good record against a weak schedule over a less good record against a strong schedule, when compared to the lax RPI formula, and also when compared to ratings that use scores like Massey. E.g., Cornell hockey is #13 in RPI and #18 in Massey.

ECAC got 4 in this year because RPI #25 Colgate won the ECAC tournament, beating #2 Quinnipiac in the semis and #7 Harvard (who beat Cornell in the semis) in the final.

For the NCAAs, Cornell at #13 RPI was the next-to-last at large.

Well (although meaningless) QK did get his digs in. He ranked Cornell lowest of any ranking poll (#7) thismweek behind Villanova. The Wildcats have a very good team, but even Massey simulates that Cornell would beat Villanova at Villanova.

QK has played the game at the highest level and has seen a bazillion games. IMO, he's entitled to his opinion.

No argument there. Usually, I agree with him, but not on this. I guess Sunday's game against Penn will be a good measurement of relative strength.
