Izzy Scane is tearing up college lacrosse and is on pace to having a historic season. No one has been able to be stop her yet. Scane and the Wildcats have been able to find timely contributions on offense and will face a tough UNC team with a seemingly never ending supply of talented freshmen. UNC also boasts a formidable defense with BWW and Emily Nalls anchoring.
In the preseason, NW looked to be the heavy favorite but UNC has backed up their #1 ranking with their play.
I think NW matches much better with UNC than a team like BC. NW has athletes that can run with UNC. This game is a toss up for me. Advantage NW for being home. UNC hasn't been as impressive on the road and doesn't play well in domes when looking at recent history. When all that is taken into account NW should win a close game. However, UNC is very hard to predict and game plan against because of their insane balance in scoring. There's no one person to really key on. I think this takes NW by surprise similar to BC.
UNC wins in a shootout 14-12

I agree, I think the teams match up well. Really think this could go either way.
NU will probably give UNC player-up opportunities & they’ll put them on the 8m. If this game is close though, I think I’d give the edge to NU. They’re very battle tested already after close games with Cuse, BC, and (less so) SBU. Theoretically, if they’ve taken anything away from those games, it should serve them well if it comes down to a photo finish.
UNC has played some good teams, but really hasn’t had any tight games so far this year. I do also enjoy how spread their scoring is.
Looking forward to a good game. Hoping for an injury-free one, too.

Looking forward to a good game. Outdoors? Field House?
I have no idea which team will win. But as a fan of neither, I relish watching the match-up of NU's offense (Scane) against UNC's defense. I am going to go with UNC winning 15-14, but only because I don't care for NU.

Yes they have a great indoor facility but they also have the option to play lake front which you would think would give NU an advantage. 35 degrees at game time...the old NU girl's teams would play outside in the freezing cold and I felt it always gave them advantage.

Let’s go Heels!! UNC 15 - NW 10

Glad there will be fans there, just adds to the environment.
Still find it surprising these games don't draw bigger numbers,
there were 2K at the NU-Cuse game in the Dome, game like
that should draw bigger numbers. Looks as if 1K is a big number
at NU, Stony Brook game showing no attendance number, 500
for Michigan, BC 1K, ND 840. Am thinking I might have to come
out of retirement to help the wlax world with promoting, it's an
easy sell these numbers should be much higher.
Got absolutely no idea who wins this one, very much looking
forward to the game, gotta figure it'll be a good one.

Northwestern by 5 or 6. Just have a feeling that NU had had this game circled since the epic collapse in May. I’ve seen all the games that mattered for both teams so far this season and have seen UNC in person. I just think NU is the better team. Could be wrong, we shall see…

Uh oh, BWW out. Nalls also very capable but it’s always nice to have two solid 1v1 defenders instead of one

UNC D playing solid. Their offense showing their youth at this point. I foresee a bunch of yellows for NW. lots of swinging sticks.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 1:42 pmUgh. I’ll bet more than two goals are scored in the second quarter. Any takers?
Re: UNC @ Northwestern 3/19/2023 1:30pm
