Tufts better in settled offense. Everyone has to play in it but LYN not adjusting.. Slippin and sliding. Tufts seems to have better footing. Is that experience or maybe different cleats for these conditions a thing up north?.

IMO, its experience - takes a while to get entirely comfortable with how much traction you have in snowy/slushy conditions.

Talking to kids that are used to playing in this weather. The mesh in the sticks freeze. Tracking the ball is tough.

Tufts usually does not play in this weather so not really an advantage. Lynchburg got schooled by a much better team.

Tufts has practiced in weather like this multiple times over the past four years, but I agree Tufts is a much better team.

I do believe Tufts is a better team than Lynchburg, but I do not believe Tufts is “19-4” better than Lynchburg.

The weather had a huge impact on that game and before you guys use that “both teams had to play in it” statement, I’ll say you’re right, but that weather highly benefits Tufts style of play. They force teams to speed up the pace of play and when you aren’t used to playing that style it is pretty tough to play against, but add 30 MPH winds, a ton of sleet/snow, and freezing temperatures and 10 hours of travel… that’s a nightmare for any opposing teams.

I’ll say it again, Tufts is a better team than Lynchburg, but I think you’re delusional if you think Lynchburg would only get 8 Shots on goal and commit 40(!!!) turnovers(many of which were unforced) in a game with normal weather conditions.

A friend said Pond Hockey, skiing, shoveling, busting ass on ice patches, ice fishing. Seemed that odd feeFooting in that slop seemed apparent.

Geez, a nor’easter Tufts embraces it like Tanya Harding LYN looked like Nancy Corrigan.. If the Championship is played in this weather bet it all on the Jumbos. Have to admit if they repeat 2015 the result probably the same..
They will flush it, focus on the Mustang, laugh and learn from this one.

Lynchburg’s offense is based on speed. Midfield beats their matchup and move the ball. Take that speed away and they struggle. I think Tufts still would have won in the end.

Babson runs away from Trinity 17-10 after Q1 hole. Nice bounce-back win after their loss to Union.

Trinity is a shell of a team - the NESCAC chat says the entire senior class quit - sounds like new coach and rebuilding time - and that will take years in that conference and given the success of so many teams these days... so I would say Babson should celebrate for a night, but don't put too much credit in that win.

Sucks for Trinity. And I don't think Babson cares, plus better than losing.

All eyes are on the Classic but Salisbury vs. Cortland will be very interesting Saturday. Cortland hasn't been tested at all this season but looking forward to see if they are turning into the powerhouse of old.

As long as Stevens and Union don't plummet in the rankings between now and their match-ups with Tufts, that would make a huge difference. Undeniably. Gettysburg may garner their own quality wins between now and then but, obviously, beating top ranked teams is a very good thing.
