Mashewske going down is not a good thing, didn't look as if it's a speedy recovery type injury either.
What's that do to this Cuse team?
Syracuse
Re: Syracuse
Well, it’s definitely not good. I believe I said it after the Binghamton game that they should take her out and put in a secondary draw girl for some game experience.
Kate is an excellent draw specialist., but they have won games even when she was losing the draw so I think if they can cause turnovers they’ll be fine
Re: Syracuse
Yup, been saying the same myself for years, I just don't get it with so many coaches who send their FOGO/DIVA (draw, immediately vamoose asap) time after time and not get others on the team experience. See it a lot on both sides, then this kind of thing happens.
Re: Syracuse
Did not see the Mashewski injury. Can someone provide more insight. Is it season ending potentially? Hoping for the best.

Re: Syracuse
If I were a recruit and looking at Syracuse, the injury rate would seriously give me pause.
Re: Syracuse
That’s terrible ! Cuse and NU were teams I had to beat UNC this year . Carolina has a lot of depth on Draw and they alternate them to maintain that depth. Not sure Cuse can beat them now . We will know their (UNC) fate against NU Sunday . The amount of injuries esp acl at Cuse is nuts .wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:17 amIt is season ending, they made a statement. Really unfortunate & you really hate to see it

Re: Syracuse
you can chalk it up to random chance..but when there is such a clear trend of severe injuries like this through multiple years, sorry to say but there is some underlying issue there. Never seen anything like this. The strength and conditioning program, practice schedule, cleats, etc all need to be looked at.

Re: Syracuse
Exactly. That's why if I were a recruit and looking at Syracuse, I might be looking elsewhere. It's happening way too often over there for it to be completely random.Kleizaster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 11:21 am you can chalk it up to random chance..but when there is such a clear trend of severe injuries like this through multiple years, sorry to say but there is some underlying issue there. Re: Syracuse
You forgot to mention turf. Pretty sure, might be wrong, all of the season ending injuries have happened at the Dome. I'd start with the turf, seems unlikely to me that's it's conditioning, not likely to me that it's practice schedule either. Cleats maybe, turf is my number one suspect type of cleats for that turf might enter the picture too...a combination of the two).

Incorrect. Most happened in ensleyDMac wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 11:33 am You forgot to mention turf. Pretty sure, might be wrong, all of the season ending injuries have happened at the Dome. Re: Syracuse
Carney's in the Dome, E. Tyrell's in the Dome, Mashewske's in the Dome...not sure on EH and Ward.
Lot in the Dome.
Lot in the Dome.

Re: Syracuse
Emma’s and chucks happened in practice(ensley)Carney Sierra dome. Lagos and freshman goalie. Practice. Costantino practice Widner I believe was done. Either way. It’s excessive. Name another team that has as many a year
Re: Syracuse
Yup, Widner was Dome....agree, it's excessive any way you look at. Same turf in Ensley?
Hard for me to believe Cuse's practice and conditioning is all that much different than
pretty much everyone else's.

Re: Syracuse
If the issue were the turf in the Dome/Ensley, you’d see more injuries to the men, no? Hasn’t happened.
Re: Syracuse
According to the experts, women are more susceptible to ACL injuries (Ward's was toe injury) though. Of course, I have no idea what's going on with these injuries but again, I find it hard to imagine that all the other programs are doing preventative ACL injury exercises/routines/practices and Cuse is not. I suspect they're all doing about the same. I'm starting with the turf/turf cleat combination.
