Tufts win 23-21. Nice job by both teams. Amherst will do great things this year. Very talented squad for sure.

If you like offensive lacrosse and didn’t watch Tufts/Amherst, then you missed one of the better D3 games played in a long while. Offensive clinic by both teams. Tufts made a couple more plays at the end, but the game was back and forth the entire time. Boyden went OFF with an absurd 12 points. Best player in the country based on the games I’ve watched in this early season thus far.

Yikes. I was never a fan of playing weaker teams at the beginning of the season. Granted bates is a Nescac opponent, but a score of 24-5, then 18-2, then go down to NJ and face a Stevens team who was ranked last season (6-1 now) and lose. Now going to Florida and playing weaker Salve Regina. Throw some fire power in the beginning of the season!

Didn’t get to watch this one, but wonder how the defensive side of the ball looked? Love the high powered offenses, but haven’t seen a stout NESCAC defense able to dominant another’s O in a while.

Wesleyan couldn't match the athleticism and skill of Stevens today, and I am certainly not surprised. Stevens has been slept on all year and has an exceptional group of transfers. Looks like Coach Raba has to keep looking for that 300th win, because he isn't going to find anything snooping around Hoboken. Congrats to Big Gene, well deserved kemosabe

The loss of Gonzalez is bad for the Jeffs ... altho that Damallie kid is a real problem. He was electric today all over the field.

Defensive players for Tufts looked good on offense. Looks like they had seven longpole goals.

IMO there have been plenty of high level defenses in the NESCAC, but given the talent in the conference and the speed the game is played at...there are just far too many possessions to ever see a great team really get shut down on the scoreboard. Great defensive performances now are about turning elite offenses into average ones.

Fair point. Fast pace creates so many possessions and plenty of offensive opportunities

Non-contact injury to the knee, I assume ACL or MCL. As noted above, no. 7 Damallie was all over the field. I think he had 7 points, plus I saw him at dmid a few times (altho may have got stuck on) and Tufts would have caused 5-6 more failed clears if not for him.

Brock Gonzalez, the 6'5" 240 lb attackman, not the fogo

44 goals in 60 minute is one goal every 1.36 minutes  That is a mind boggling !!

Gonzalez really only played in 2019, Kopp was the starting FOGO last season as a freshman and was 2nd Team All-NESCAC.

Middlebury wins at RPI, 10-9, giving the Panthers back-to-back one-goal road wins this weekend to climb to 3-0.

The Panthers spotted the Engineers a 5-goal lead before clawing its way back and then winning in dramatic fashion. After leveling the score at 9-9 with 2:00 minutes left and winning the subsequent face-off, Midd calls timeout—only to have its terrific FO man William Munroe flagged for an illegal stick. 3-minute non-releasable. But RPI carelessly throws the ball away 10 seconds later, setting up a Panther possession, and Tom Conley scores a man-down goal with :36 left, giving Midd its first lead of the game. Then comes a face-off violation for the Engineers (against Midd's backup FO man) and the Panthers successfully milk the clock. Self-destruction by the Engineers and gritty, gutsy play by the Panthers.

Curious whether anyone knows if the officials chose a FOGO stick for the TO check or whether SHG specifically called for a stick check on Munroe.

I think when the timeout was called he was still on the field, then, heading to the box they asked for the stick. Need video to confirm that.
