Lynchburg 10 Salisbury 9 - The Lynchburg D is tough. If they can get more possessions by winning faceoffs and control the tempo they they can win this game. It helps that they are at home.
Hampden Sydney 18 Greensboro 5 - I'm not sure why they would schedule this game.
Roanoke 12 John Carroll 11 - JC is a tournament team from last year and is loaded with upperclassmen. Noke finally wins a close game against a quality opponent.
Denison 12 W&L 10 - Traveling to Ohio is not easy. W&L has been a bit inconsistent and that will hurt them in this game.
Bridgewater 10 Berry 9
St.Marys 18 Shenandoah 7
That Lynchburg d is not tough. Offense played great minus the missteps when going against a zone which has always been their downfall. Confident the offense will figure out how to score against a zone. Defensive wise they have a lot of work to do. Lack of slides was their biggest problem and something they need to figure out. Your offense put that game away going up 15-13 with a little over two minutes left. All you needed was one stop to seal the game and they couldn’t get it done. Hadley was great in net and face offs looked good.

Congratulations to the Gulls. You took advantage of opportunities and made the plays in the end.
LYN defense #52 Henri Marindin must have gotten dinged up being out in the 4th Q until the final 2 minutes. #25 Jeremy Johnson converted to SSDM stepped in and theD fell out of sync..Ferreras restart goal and Jude advantage of Freshman # 40 SSDM and Johnson slow slide for the feed across crease. They held the big threats in check for the most part. Have to credit Thrasher and Nestor who combined for 6 goals. Pick your poison..
Thought Defazio had a great 2nd half..

Thought the play that lost the game was the 15-14 FO LYN won but #31 Luke Meadows, the other freshman, yard sale after possession that led to Thacker rebound goal to go tie.. ouch.
LYN will learn from this one and as the sausage king of Chicago pointed out need to finish 2nd half… Good news is Cole Nestor is back and looked good. His brother did buried one unassisted against him and gets bragging rights!

It appears the Generals hit the repeat button on the York game. That’s a tough way to go.

W&L !!!
Looking forward to LYN and W&L battle(s).
Can’t see NOKE or HSC beating them but we have a long way to go.

Another halftime of changes for the Gennies (including 2nd quarter change of Seeds for Boyd in Goal that paid off). Great defense in the 2nd half, still too many penalities, and NO MOVING PICKs in the 2nd half, they got back to being disciplined. Congrats to Coach M. and the team!!!

Really nice comeback by the Gennies today. They put Denison on their heels in the second half and didn't let off the gas. It's a good sign when a team can come back like that, especially on the road.

I sure learned one thing this weekend, Lynchburg is dam good. I thought both teams played well this weekend. Lynchburg is better than I previously thought. That first mid line is outstanding. There’s a significant gap between Lynchburg and the rest of the ODAC, including W&L, HSC and Roanoke. Glad W&L came away with a W in Granville. Looks as if the lights have been too bright for the freshman goalie. Im sure he will be back but I don’t think it will be against Gettysburg. Despite being down 8-4 at half W&L kept their poise and brought it back. Like to see someone emerge as a go to guy on midfield. Gettysburg will be a great measuring stick

- 1st half goals scored = 18

- 1st half goals against = 6
- 2nd half/OT goals against = 17

Let’s just say that Lynchburg has the potential to be damn good. Their first and second half stats describe a team that has an issue that needs to be fixed. The coach has noticed this I’m sure.

Lynchburg is the clear favorite to win the ODAC at this point. The W&L defense can hang but overall team is too inconsistent. Roanoke has talent but can't seem to ever put it all together. HSC has too many holes in the lineup.

One could argue that even with the positives from the Salisbury game, Lynchburg is the team that is inconsistent and that W&L (despite some flaws) is the team that gets stuff done, somehow, someway (and is still undefeated)

Anyone else thinking Roanoke is in major trouble at the goalie position. You’d think with Pilat hosting that money grabbing goalie camp every year that they’d have that position figured out. Gonna need to be better if they want to make it to the dance floor come May.

You cannot give up 7 GOALS in the first quarter and not make a SAVE and expect to win in this league. That is piss poor, you make a great point in that having a goalie camp and having many goalies come you could get good goalies but it seems that isn’t the case for Roanoke.

That was a tough first quarter for sure. The sun on that end of the field was brutal which is of course an excuse. The Freshman who came in did pretty well so I don't think it's a panic situation at this point.

Agree on all your points. If the Gennies become more consistent, which I believe they will, look out. Having watched all 4 teams play this year, if all 4 are playing at their best, it will make for an outstanding end of the season, and ODAC tourney.

Honestly I thought after the freshman settled them down some the bigger issue was the offense, which I’m shocked to say. 0-5 man up, lots of 1on1, bad shots right into the goalies stick. It was an ugly day for them. Their man up is killing them. I heard a stat they have converted twice on man up all season. That’s embarrassing if true. The goalie play is concerning though, can’t have your team in that type of hole in the first. Sad to say that Noke while talented seems very discombobulated.

I could certainly see Lynchburg winning the league. But clear favorite? They seem as inconsistent as W&L and hold a worse record vs weaker albeit similar strength of schedule. Lynchburg has had 2 bad second half’s this year similar to W&Ls two bad halves. Only it’s cost them a game. We will learn more about W&L this weekend.

Discombobulated is somewhat accurate. It's been a combination of many things that is not letting them beat good teams. The offense does settle for bad angle low % shots too often. Good defenses know to take away #9 in the center and let others try and dodge and score. Noke has trouble winning those matchups so it bogs down the offense. They have shown a couple brief flashes of good, strong outside shooting but really don't have that as a constant threat. So once again good defenses can really clog up the middle and take away #9. Face off play and wing play is decent, the win % could be higher but most of the time they mix it up enough to make it challenging for the opponent. I think the defense is ok in the 6 on 6 game but I think they should be a bit quicker to slide. Their SSDM's are strong kids but perhaps not as fast so they need help. I'm not sure if putting two poles up top on the D would help slow down dodgers and also disrupt outside shooters. They are more discombobulated when it comes to containing fast breaks. The goalie play is a question mark as mentioned. It will be interesting to see if Pilat starts the Freshman going forward.
I think they are also putting a bit too much pressure on themselves. They need to treat each game as if they are the underdog, relax, don't force things and win the ground ball game.
