So's everyone else. Meanwhile, Connor & Jordan are not discussing Long's condition. Ditto for the rest of the team.

There are good reasons for this. (1) Other teams aren't sure how to prepare for Cornell. (2) When Long comes back, other teams will have to guess at what kept him out of earlier games, and therefore they won't know how to take advantage of any lingering effects of an injury. (3) Although films from last year would show how Cornell used Long then, this year's team is different, and the coaches might decide to use him (and the other players on attack) differently; if so, his first game or two back might take opponents by surprise.
The main reason is that medical information for students is required to be maintained confidential. Mike Long will be back when he's back.

I think ya musta snuck in a few Flower Powers for that game Joe ... it was the 3rd game of the season, Cornell won to go to 3-0: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/109 ... -six-weeks
Whoops, Sorry 77, so did we get to 9-0 that year without Robbie and then lost back to back to Harvard and SU or was , that the year before with Robbie or the year after the injury? Yeah, now that I think about it, he wouldn't have been granted a medical exemption and another year if it happened in the 9th or 10th game.

it was actually the 2nd game of the season. cornell had excellent records in all those years, but never 9 and oh. had 2, 1 and 1 losses, in addition to other wins after that 9 game mark. it's all available on the cornell lax website back to 1893 under schedules. he had already piled up 3-4? games worth of pts in that <2 games.

You're right, the Army game was the 2nd game of the 2012 season. The article that said that Cornell was 3-0 came out after another game had been played (without RP3).

Cornell lost to UVa 9-8 in OT at the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic at M&T Bank Stadium on March 10, and was then 3-1. The Red then won 6 straight, including wins over Yale, Penn, Harvard, #8 Denver, and Cuse, before mysteriously losing to an unheralded Brown, 10-9. Later it came out that RP3 had tried to return to practice in the week before that game, but could not continue. My theory is that this demoralized the team. Cornell then lost the last game of the regular season to Princeton, 14-9, and then in the first round of the Ivy tournament to Yale, 14-10, in a game that featured a highly questionable goalie change by DeLuca. Cornell did not get an NCAA bid.

The 2014 team started 9-0 in Kerwick's first year before losing to Harvard, Syracuse and Hofstra. In the Ivy tournament Penn scored the last four goals to beat Cornell 11-10 and Maryland came back from 1-5 at the half to eliminate Cornell 8-7.

Thanks. I thought their was season recently that we started 9-0. I remember the Syracuse game at the Kopf at night very well as Randy Staats (who I thought was the best lacrosse player in college that year ) put on a show and scored an incredible goal in mid-air while horizontal to the ground.

Your comment reminded me of an image that the Ithaca Journal had of Tarik Ergin, he was flat out in the air as he scored a goal. I thought it was 1982 against Army, but my memory must be failing as the CU website says he finished playing in '81.

From IL:

Team spokespeople were not able to provide status updates on Delaware’s Michael Robinson or Cornell’s Michael Long. Robinson has not played since Feb. 15 and has been seen on the sideline with his arm in a sling; the Blue Hens host Michigan at noon Saturday. Long has yet to play during the Big Red’s 3-0 start. A source tells IL that he sustained a lower body injury that should not threaten his season.

My comment is way after the fact. This provincial townie was chuffed to see that guys from our tiny burgh made significant contributions against Lehigh.

Lehigh's FOGO must be in Petey LaSalla territory.

We need to start stronger, especially vs Ohio State. Last year in the playoffs we were down 4-0 and a tOSU shot off the pipe as the first quarter ended. In our regular season game we started down 3-0. Hoping to see Long back, and more of Cascadden at FO with Psylos on a wing. Maybe Staub on the other wing for an All-Nassau unit?

Great interview. First Team All America players simply understand the game better. Few of them are able to articulate this understanding. Even fewer can motivate others to others to perform using this knowledge and communication. It seems like Coach Buczek can do all three things.

Good luck to the Big Red today! A great early season test but Cornell looked great on Tuesday and seems ready for the Buckeyes.

So how do we watch today? It appears the game is only on Big 10+, which requires a subscription.

Cheapest is $10 for a one-month one-school (OSU) subscription. I sprung for $40 for an all-B1G one-year lax subscription.

Nice lax stadium at OSU.
