Similar to last year, I’ll combine the few early weeks due to there not being as many ranked competitions.

There will likely be some greatly matched teams whose games I don’t list, because I’m just looking at ranked/rv vs ranked/rv , so don’t get offended.

Hopefully, just as last year, Matnum can chime in with what the fanlax pollsters’ numbers reflect on the matter

I suppose Dickinson vs Stevens was worthy of a mention as well (didn’t see Stevens receiving votes until after I posted).

I’m just hoping for a strong performance by W&L. I’ve seen all the questions raised about the goalie situation but I have a lot of confidence in Spagnoletti’s replacement. After all he only started 1 year and was behind Jack Taylor as a junior getting in only 7 games. W&L will have a good goalie once again in the cage. I think there are a fair number of questions for both these teams as to who they are. I’d expect W&L to be a shade better offensively this year compared to last and maybe a shade weaker on team D overall. Let the games begin

I think the W&L goalie situation might go like this - start the Senior and see how it goes, go to your Junior if things aren't clicking, and then your sophomore who is a solid option.

Against York (basically a top 3 team) this progression could go fast.

Whoever gets the start if pulled I’d jump right to the freshman , trial by fire. Kids good

I may wait for game 2 to insert the freshman. York is going through the same issue as you may see any one of three goalies on Saturday.

I think that Ursinus and Stevenson will being a very interesting game as Ursinus brings back a lot and Stevenson has a ton of talent coming back as well but needs to replace their great goalie

Yup. So a team beats the #32, #34, and #40 teams. That's their 3 Best Wins. Then they beat the #55 team. What these rankings basically say is... We didn't learn anything from that game (that we didn't already know). Believe it or not, it actually makes sense. :)
Then they lose next in Triple OT on the road to the undefeated, unanimous #1 team after having the winning goal waved off in 2nd OT over an inadvertent whistle and once again "We didn't learn anything from that game (that we already didn't know)"

Just sayin' nuances matter

Correct. Obviously not all will agree but... The perspective of this system is binary: Ws and Ls. Losing in triple OT is heart-breaking and... It's still just a loss. Ws and Ls and just Ws and Ls.

Wait… So the actual end result stat is all that matters?
Got it.

So, hypothetically, #246 loses a 3OT road game to #1 and it means absolutely nothing because they didn't get the W. In fact, losing 32-2 would have been the exact same thing.

Correct. Ws and Ls. Which is why losing in OT is so painful.

Maybe not "Game of the Week" worthy but Union Vs. Endicott seems interesting. Didn't catch the Endicott/MIT game but it looks like the green Gulls have middies who can score. For Union, their opener with Babson on paper didn't look as authoritative as a top 10 team might want.

Interested to see if Union came out flat game 1. Endicott should be a good test for them.

I think that the Stevenson v. Catholic game will be very interesting as both teams will be desperate for a win.
