Is it me or do we have a bad habit of making opposing goalies look like brick walls? Quinnipiac goalie had 20 saves today.

I don't remember Brown doing much preseason scrimmaging, maybe I just never heard about it. Losing the starting D and 4 of 5 top scorers, maybe fallball & Brown v White weren't enough to determine the depth chart, or coaches want a little more seasoning before the scores count.
Whatever, will be looking for guys to POP à la Antonelli & Glavin last year.
A LOT to replace in 2023, probably fair to expect an ugly Feb/March while new guys settle in. Saw the preseaon #12 ranking--maybe the Bears will be playing like a top 15 team in April but expectations for early season shouldn't be too high IMO
Bumping this--watching today it seemed like Daly was still trying guys out all over the field.

Not shocked, didn't recognize about 70% of the guys out there. Saw a ton of frosh in the middle of the field. Bears will be fine but expecting some more growing pains over the next few weeks.

Same goalie as today. Off-day last year compared to others. No wins until today, but he does stop shots.

2020
Nick DiMuccio 11GA. 21saves

2019. 20GA. 17saves

2022. 19GA. 11saves

Also too, win or lose can we try to develop a 2nd faceoff man so 48 doesn't wear out?

Echoing RopeUnit, the line from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid kept popping into my head all game, "who are those guys?" I didn't see a gameday roster sheet, and it was too cold to keep consulting the roster on my phone. With as much turnover as Brown has from '22 to '23, the OOC schedule isn't as much about making one's bones as it is getting experience and a set depth chart for the league schedule. #38 on attack & LSM 19 looked like they fit in well. Checking roster; 2 freshman goalies🤔
Of course, no complaints if Bruno DOES make some OOC bones.

Bears ride a 4-0 third quarter to take down PC, 12-7.

Good to see them come out strong in the second half. The 3rd quarter was their Achilles heel early in the season last year, if I remember correctly.

Ok, here's my notes on who's seeing the field.
Starting attack 28,29,38, with 41 filling in and on emo.
OMids, can't say first or second because 23 is 2-way, & 10 & 37 seem to be trusted on the d-end too (a bit 😉).
10,13,23,27,37,42,43
LSMs 19,21(mostly f/o wing),39
SSDMs 2,4,5,12(man down),25, of course 23. Prolly missed a few
Close D 30,35,44, 21 filled in regularly. Lots of changes on man-down, I think both 19 & 39 are on it, with 88 (I think), 12, and one of the top 3 close D.
The f/o shortsticks were pretty much the ssdms, 23,4&5mostly.
F/O 48, 77 took a few

37 needs the rock more!
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Nice "bounce back" win for Brown State. Should be a tough game versus a good Vermont squad coming up. Let's go Bears!

Sunday in Burlington - High 32 with snow showers. But that beats a high of 16 degrees on Saturday. Welcome to NE.

Good measuring stick Sunday against a 2022 conference champ & ncaa first-rounder with wins this year vs BU & Utah & a close loss to a getting-better Syracuse, with a HM All-American at faceoff (64% this year.) First road game (get used to that 🤨).
Vermont -1.5, over/under 22.5

Yeah. I love snow games in football and had fun playing lax in it on a few rare occasions but this is painful to watch. There is no footing, no one can dodge, everyone is kind of shuffling around. Brown is shuffling better but lax is not a sport made better when the speed and freewheeling aspect is curtailed.

Bruno off to a great start even with the terrible footing. Nice first half for Brown.

This the result of TV now taking over our sport of lacrosse...they call all the scheduling now.
Pretty sad.

Wow, the McLanes! Not even the fourth period and Devin McLane has 10 points (9 goals, 1 assist) and younger brother Aidan has added another 3 points on 1 goal, 2 assists. Trevor Yeboah-Kodie also a huge force. Lastly, Gunty at faceoffs (helped with great wing play by TYK) has been huge, won 8 of 9 faceoffs in the first period when Brown got off to a great start.
