Looks like Ahearn, Leubecker and May have. Not sure about anyone else.
Upcoming Best Games 2023
Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
Just playing off sc's comment.
Off the top of my head, I can think of two Terps who definitely have been to Philly, though they aren't playing.

15-9, Final. A W but not an impressive win. And... A W is a W.

Exactly. They don’t look the best, but it’s February and they have Cathy Reese.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 4:07 pmAgreed. Terps are a work in progress, and in February, that's fine.
Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
The big issue for them is the schedule isn't really built for a team that's a work in progress. Go to Florida on Saturday, then at JMU on Mar. 1 and host Denver on Mar. 5. Not a lot of margin for error to work through some things. Watched a few minutes because the stream was spotty but it appears the big issues are the defense hasn't gelled and they need to have someone other than Leubecker and May step up and be a scorer.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 4:07 pmAgreed. Well, that is a good point. Happily, not a Terp fan, so I don't much care. If they play like they did today, I can see them going 1-2 over those three games.jff97 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 4:13 pmThe big issue for them is the schedule isn't really built for a team that's a work in progress. I can see them going 1-2 as well. Then again, at least they're playing good competition and learning what they need to work on. Most highly ranked teams do a good job scheduling, except for the one down in Durham.....Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 4:46 pmWell, that is a good point. Missed most of this one (plus the network was going back and forth between two games).
Was doing a little cooking. For those who don't visit the food thread (fools). Bok choy and
mushroom sauce, pretty crazy good. Wings and ribs Asian style too. Good stuff...and how
'bout that focus!!!

New carpet (long overdue) at the Kopf looks nice.
Cornell up 10-4 over Gate at the half.

Terps have significantly better talent than their next three opponents. I was not impressed with Florida last week at UNC. They should come out of that stretch 3-0.

Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
I think we should pause before using the term "should" with this MD team. They havn't earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt. Florida almost always loses against UNC. It's not indicative of how they'll play game to game. a talented UNC team this year btw that is no slouch. is MD better overall than florida? probably. But florida is still good and has some talent. I'd argue Emma LoPinto is a better attacker than anyone currently on Maryland. If MD wins it'll be a close game. i can also see a florida upset.Carolinagrad wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 8:54 pm Terps have significantly better talent than their next three opponents. JMU doesn’t have the offense this year, I like UMD in this game. Shut down Peterson and take away Jankowski as JMUs second option and their offense falls off a cliff. VT should have beaten JMU. They limited these two players, but VT gifted JMU 17 turnovers. Many of which were unforced. Credit to the JMU goalie. She stepped up big that game and bailed the Dukes out. I think UMD wins this one.jff97 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 4:13 pmThe big issue for them is the schedule isn't really built for a team that's a work in progress. Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
I am a bad prognosticator, generally speaking. But for the sake of discussion, I'm "calling it now" that Maryland loses to Florida narrowly, beats JMU, and loses to Denver. If I'm wrong, I'm OK with that, as I like Maryland and Reese.VAMomGlax2019 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 8:30 amJMU doesn’t have the offense this year, I like UMD in this game. Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
Maryland’s defense is on a different stratosphere than Florida’s.Maryland also have a significant edge on the draw circle. Maryland should win vs Florida. If I was betting I would say by a 5-6 goal differential.

Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
Prior to Cuse game, I would have said MD defense could handle itself, but the D and the entire team looked a bit lost in the Dome. Unlike MD to come out so NOT game-ready, IMHO.
On the other side, the Gator's convincing win against Michigan does not have the same juice as we may have thought since the Big Blue are not where they were expected to be to be at this juncture. Add to that Florida got clobbered by a still wobbly UNC.
I think both teams will come out firing with a lot to prove. Have to give the nod to MD as I expect they are just the more disciplined team.

Florida held UNC (@UNC) to 12. Maryland "held" 'Cuse (@Cuse) to 20. Looking at the numbers, them being in a different stratosphere might be a bit of an overstatement.
