ODAC 2023

[Hardhat]

Macon with a 20-14 loss to UMW that was 10-6 at halftime and Shenandoah a 14-9 loss to UMW that was 6-6 at halftime. 2 very different games. But the middle of the pack ODAC teams seem to be relatively fairly matched again. Bridgewater has yet to play a game.

Really rough look for a team that beat Hood by 15+ last year. We will see if this team responds or shuts down and gets their ass kicked the rest of the season.

I know its a ways away, but seeing W&L play well makes me excited for conference play. Interested to see if someone other than W&L will host the ODAC tourney. W&L has hosted every year since 2017, 2020 omitted. A 3-peat for Lynchburg may not be on the horizon.

Cabrini over Lyn 14-12. I think Cabrini has a slight advantage over in Lyn on both O and D but the X is the deciding factor. We'll see how good this Freshman FOGO is. 22/24 and 18 GBs on your debut is astounding.

Denison over HSC 13-8. Going to be interesting to see how HSC plays on offense post Duffy against a very good program.

Dickinson over Noke 15-10. Despite a closer than expected game against Susquehanna I expect the Devils to keep their momentum going.

I think Lynchburg can scratch out a win over Cabrini. It’s early but Coach K will have his team ready.

Year 2 for Coach Koch at Denison. I think HSC May struggle early in the year until they adjust to personnel losses due to graduation.

Dickinson will score on Noke D. Can Roanoke’s offense respond. I think Noke will come up short.

W&L gets to 3-0 after dispatching the Shoremen

NBL take a good look at the 2 freshman Ssdm, 32 and 57. Check out their high school recruiting tapes.These two have the potential to be special players, high ceiling on both. There are some other gems in this class as well. The first 2 poles are solid on the starting D and they are solid at LSM. The freshman goalie looked more comfortable and suspect his confidence will continue to rise thru the WAC game. Hope he doesn’t need to but we will see if he can take over a game like Spags and save 18 or more and be the deciding factor. I think he’ll get there

Gimme Lynchburg by 4
First real test for Sydney and Denison. Don’t really have a read on this, haven’t seen either play. Also when’s the last time these two met up? Denison has WL and Noke on the schedule every year but haven’t seen them play Sydney. Good game for both parties. Guess I’ll take Denison.
Noke needs to catch one of these ranked teams prior to conference play for some momentum. Why not up in Sparks, should be a great crowd of Dickinson and Noke alumni in the area. It was 19-15 last year, I figure a similar score this year. Hopefully Noke can pull one out. Need everyone to step up offensively, avoid the penalty box, and neutralize faceoffs as much as possible. Interested to see if and how much ten man Pilat dials up this weekend, make someone but Brandau handle the ball. Speed them up as much as possible playing as little settled defense as possible is the key here.
