20?
Penn state is great. But 20?
JHU looks dead. And not subbing anyone. PSU throwing everyone in.

Weston Narewski won a faceoff. Good.
Game 12 talent development.

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
Tambroni's done this all year, and it was silly to assume he'd take it easy on Petro because he likes Petro. Tambroni has no, um, *expletives* to give.
Also, part of PSU's identity is to beat teams before they take the field. Teams come into games so in awe of PSU's offense, that PSU's almost won the game before the first face off.
So dropping 20 on Hopkins is part of the plan.

Petro post game press conference next week:
1) We understand this is not what is expected at Hopkins.
2) We will evaluate the entire program this summer.
3) Changes will be made to get Hopkins back where it belongs.
Next fall:
1) We have changed the pregame meal. Nothing else is wrong.

But you can recruit it. I run FLN and remember how effective Lee Coppersmith was as a change of pace. How is it possible a high end D1 program could have so little foot speed?
I don't care what Quint does in his Top 20 poll tomorrow but if JHU is anywhere near it . . . this is not a Top 20 team right now.
Is it time to question whether recruit rankings assume that if JHU is recruiting the kid they should be ranked, instead of whether their recruits get over-ranked? Are JHU commits not as good as they get ranked in general? Or is the player development seriously flawed?
You can’t teach speed.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
And, while watching this, has JHU won a single 50/50 ground ball?

Last time JHU gave up 20: 1994
You can say it’s coaching.
Or you can say it’s players not meeting their potential. But who recruits those players??

Peeps are highly, highly flammable too.
Throw one into a campfire, and you’ll quickly find out.

a fan,
I see you are on here. I sent you a FB PM (to business acct) asking what kind of work socks you wear with your Carhartt’s.
Your staff might be thinking What the heck?

Dmac calling Dwan fat again.
So obvious in the last five minutes when the subs went in that this team lacks size and toughness when they play the munchkins. Play the bigger boys and have a fight with the Terps.
Anyone think Nads will change the drapes?

Blue Jays have both speed and size, but they’re sitting on the bench.LRoggy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 2:07 pmBut you can recruit it. Freshman midfielder Jake Lilly was a high school receiver in football (over 1000 career yards receiving with 15 touchdowns). He’s 6’4”.
Mabbett is 6’4” with decent speed. He’s strong, too, as we saw on his goal against Penn State.
“Shorty” Evan Zinn is 6’3” and has the best wheels on the team. Needless to mention a blaster for a shot.
Put those three together and you have one of the biggest, most athletic midfields Hopkins has seen in over a decade.
Ya tellin’ me that they can’t play because they might diminish a defense that just got hung for 20 goals by Penn State?!?

I don't think that ever happened.
And in case anyone here doesn't know: Tambroni was Petro's assistant at Cornell, they worked very closely together, and when Petro left for JHU he strongly recommended that Tambroni take over.

Hopkins kept their starters in. Why shouldn’t Tambroni keep the pedal to the metal?

Usually it's the winning team that pulls its starters first …

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
I snapshotted laf’s TSI calculations this morning, including all of yesterday’s games but prior to Pickett’s Charge today.
Here’s where Hopkins stood:
That’s 20th overall, 21.8% chance of AQ which will drop like a brick, and 5.55% chance of an at large which might actually go up.
Will be interesting to see how these change based on today’s asswhipping.
