The Utes will be fine. They played a Denver squad whose incentive and hunger has gone to another level due to this being Coach Tierney's last season.

Not a great day for the ASUN,

at least from this one day,
ASUN is much more wide open than you’d think.

Jax’s weaknesses were exposed.

Not so great at faceoff.
Their defense was a question for me coming into the season,
so really when those two areas are down,
the areas they excel in, super charged offense, three deep at
goaltending - 3 good goalies,
are not going to be able to get on track, are going to be bogged down.

And, They can’t really surprise top tier teams any longer.

For Jax, you need to take into account they are currently missing Max Waldbaum (not sure when he will be back) and they gave alot of minutes to true freshman. I think once you get Waldbaum back and freshman get their feet under them, they will be tough.

A grad transfer from Seton Hill but he isn’t particularly big.

Anyone know why Brandon Dodd did not play against Stonybrook? Is he injured?

Jacksonville 12, Robert Morris 6
In a key matchup at the top of the ASUN, the Dolphins took care of business. Dylan Watson had six goals and three assists, Max Waldbaum had four points (3G, 1A), and Nathan Kapp won 12-of-21 face-offs.
Dylan Watson scored two wild goals in about 10 seconds to close
out the 3rd quarter and effectively end that game.

If the other teams use this as bulletin board material, that is totally understandable. If that ends up paying off for them, all the power to them. However, while the other DI conference championships could feature multiple different teams, I would be very, very surprised if:

1. Utah and Jacksonville don’t go into the ASUN Tournament as the top two seeds.

2. Those two squads don’t meet in the title game.

Due to both losing by a goal in their conference finals last year, and being hungrier than ever to make the postseason for the first time, the extra incentive they probably have is through the roof!

The extra covid year, the transfer portal , and the overall growth of the game has put a lot of talent in non traditional places. This is really exciting as a fan.

If a player isn’t seeing the ball, he’s got to tell the coaches,

could be that’s what happened with the Jax goalie,

but then Galloway said, tough it out, it’ll pay off in the
long run, Jax’s goalie was late reacting on just about every
shot.
