Can't remember the last time I've seen this many safe, legal hits....and no flags. It's nice.

ESPN+ won't take my money. Technical problems.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Marcille with 7 saves at the half.
Five blown clears.
Six different Hopkins scorers, two of them from D.
Winning faceoffs by one.
Blue Jays basically grinding their way to a 6-5 halftime lead.
The offense is not pretty, but they’re getting some decent looks.
Oh boy ….

On the bright side, if we could clear, we'd have a firm lead.
Unfortunately, we can't clear.
Some sloppiness is to be expected for Feb. 4 but passing it right to the other team for an empty netter is not general early-season sloppiness. That's just doo doo.

We're also fortunate that Jax has missed wide a couple of close-in shots. A little better accuracy would force Marcille to make a play.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Gotta love first-week-of-February lacrosse! Kidding.
Impressions:
- Defense: good
- Shooting: horendous
- Clearing: with 187 SSDMs on the roster, you would think that one of them could help in the clearing game. Apparently not.
- Goalie- now freed from the staff's Kirson fetish, Marcille looks great
Individual players: Mazzone is as advertised, Deans looks great, I like Melendez's overall game, Martin (clearing aside) is our best SSDM in years, Angelus (when confident) is tough to stop

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
I don’t get it. This program can’t figure out a clearing system and when most programs find themselves in that situation they rely on a punt return approach. Do the Jays lack that much athleticism that they don’t have someone to get the ball up field? Maybe an Evan Zinn type player? lolprimitiveskills wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 8:11 pm Gotta love first-week-of-February lacrosse! Kidding.

Are high school students from an AV club handling the broadcast?!?
Worst I have ever seen on ESPN.

I was ok with the zoom on the ball, so we saw the shot up close.
