Re: The Mueller Investigation
I read it from start to finish.
Don't lie. Don't meet with spies in Hotels. Don't fire Comey. Don't obstruct justice.
You want to ignore all this, and we both know why.

Re: The Mueller Investigation
What the left SAID was that Trump was Traitorous. Treasonous. A Russian Asset. For over 2 FN years
They didn't say he was an obstructionist.
The chit is about to hit the fan on all that.

It did its job didn't it. Americans believed their president was a russian agent and republicans stayed away from trumps agenda in droves. It worked gloriously.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 8:36 am"stifled any forward movement"...with a GOP House and Senate???6ftstick wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 3:41 pmSounds like Franks got an inkling the report will have nothing in it. "I have an odd request, and it concerns Robert Mueller’s report, a redacted version of which will be released by the Justice Department tomorrow.
Please ignore it.
Maybe not “ignore” — I’m overstating my case — but please stop treating or at least talking about it as the referendum on Donald Trump’s presidency. Please stop casting or letting others cast it as some definitive judgment about the wrongness or rightness of his ascent to the White House, as some binding verdict on whether his behavior there has gone beyond the pale.
Do you — does anyone — really need the work of Mueller and his team to come to a conclusion about that? How important is evidence not yet revealed when so much of what Trump does is conspicuous, when the essence of his character is proudly unhidden? You know it from his words, spoken and tweeted and intemperate to the point of viciousness. You know it from his aides, current and former, whose nagging senses of patriotism and propriety lead them to leak about the extreme requests that he has made and that they have thwarted.
You know it in your bones.
And that’s the problem with the Mueller obsession. It implies that Trump is defined by whether he actively conspired with Russian officials to attain power. It suggests that the jury on his integrity is out, that the puzzle of his full nature is unsolved.
Are there missing pieces, without which exact degrees of malfeasance can’t be determined? Yes. And some of them will probably be missing forever.
But they’re not necessary, not to appraise him morally as opposed to criminally.
From his spasmodic activism before he formally entered politics, from his furious campaign for the presidency and from his two and a quarter years in office, you have the truth of Trump. You need nothing more to decide that he has been persecuted and is no worse in his way than other presidents were in theirs, or to take a darker view, which I do.
To discuss the Mueller report as some climax and turning point is to empower various partisans — the president and his supporters chief among them — in their efforts to parse and characterize it to their liking and turn it into propaganda for that small but pivotal minority of Americans whose votes in 2020 aren’t foreordained.
That lets political gamesmanship and public relations eclipse common sense. And it’s no way to make America sane again."
Nahhh we ain't got to show you no stinking report!
or do you mean that it contributed to an historically big gap in votes in the 2018 election?
Re: The Mueller Investigation
Thats the kind of government you want now I take it. Pick a name and send the US government alphabet soup togo fishing to find a crime.
Re: The Mueller Investigation
Yep. But that's the left.
That leaves us moderates who said no such thing. And you, as a conservative, who said no such thing. So we get to judge the Mueller report using a different standard.
Are you impressed by Trump from what you've read in the Mueller report?
Re: The Mueller Investigation
The Trump Family has been mobbed up ever since he father got into bed with the Mafia and later when he began working with the Russian mobs
Re: The Mueller Investigation
Respectfully, this is just not correct. I can understand how non-lawyers might see something nefarious here, but there really is nothing to this.I think the problem with Comey was his changing of the terminology in how he described HRC's misuse of handling top secret information. His strategic redefining of how he described her malfeasance is what saved her from facing prosecution.
Comey was very clear that the conclusion was nothing indictable regarding Hillary and that it was not even a close call. After determining the conclusion, then Comey has to write it up.
Like any practicing lawyer, you do a first draft. Then a second, third, fourth etc. etc. Probably the final document was version 10. Or maybe version 20. Like any piece of legal work product is. Changing the wording from reckless to grossly negligent (or whatever the language change was) is one of thousands of edits that would have been made. And those suggestions would have been suggested by many different people. Making that change was basically legal spell-check. I can only imagine how many versions and how much word-smithing Mueller's 400 pages went through.
There's a reason why standard lawyer practice is, once the final version is done, to scrub out all revision meta-data and to delete all prior drafts. Because it takes a long time and a lot of work to get it precisely right. And only the final version is the final version.
My first drafts are typically horrible and wrong. Which is fine -- because I only get judged on my final version. Same goes for Comey and Mueller.
Boycott stupid. If you ignore the gator troll, eventually he'll just go back under his bridge.
Re: The Mueller Investigation
I'm sure that was your sentiment during the Starr nonsense, right?
But I take it you've forgotten that YOU voted for this exact government, not me?
Who hand picked Rosenstein? That's right. Your man Trump. The guy you voter for, right? And Rosenstein appointed Mueller.
So now that Trump was stupid enough to fire Comey, he got Mueller looking into his finances. He brought the whole thing on himself.
Ironic, no? But you and FoxNation will continue to insist that the left appointed Mueller until you believe that that's what happened. (sorry, that's not what happened).

Re: The Mueller Investigation
He fired Comey correctly for leaking. And refused to tell anyone what he told trump to his face that he wasn't the subject of an investigation. Even though he was. The reason we have a special counsel is because Comey LEAKED classified notes taken in a private discussion with Trump.a fan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 7:11 pmI'm sure that was your sentiment during the Starr nonsense, right?

Right. Because there's only left and right, and none of us in between. Anyone who's even one step to the left of Hannity is a pinko commie, right?6ftstick wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 7:12 pmThe last thing you are is a moderate.a fan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 6:55 pmYep. But that's the left.

You dodged my question---yet again. You're impressed with Trump having read Muller's report of his behavior, right? Suddenly because Trump has a little R by his name, you and your crew are willing to 100% trust every word and action of your Federal government?
Government is bad, unless it's a Republican government. Then you'll follow them to the gates of hell without question, right?
Re: The Mueller Investigation
I personally find the redacted version of the Mueller report both reassuring and confirming, and I happen to be someone who has a hard time imagining a person less morally, mentally or ethically fit for the office of President of the US than Donald Trump. I foresee a long downhill political slide for both Trump and AG Barr now that the revelations of the report are being made public, Trump's reputation as a public perception manipulator notwithstanding.

Re: The Mueller Investigation
Still dodging my questions.
Still wont' admit Trump brought this on himself. Still won't tell me you're suddenly behind Trump's socialist spending and massive deficit.
Heck, I still can't name a conservative bill that Trump has passed. More spending. More swamp. Bigger government. And still, you LOVE him.
Pretty obvious that outside of social issues, I'm to the right of you. You care about party. Not about conservatism. They aren't the same.

Did Trump pay for the fake dose. Did Trump use it to get FISA warrants. Did Trump have Brennan call him treasonous. Did trump have McCabe call him a Russian Asset.
This was a coup. Orchestrated at the highest levels of the Intelligence and Justice communities. And its hard to see how the ObamaWhite House wouldn't have known all about it.
Re: The Mueller Investigation
I've had FNC on in the background this afternoon while working in the home office.
The coverage by most of the actual news people (Bret Baier, Brit Hume, Chris Wallace, Katherine Herridge) has been pretty credible and reasonable. Not much different than what you'd get from, say, Anderson Cooper. Most of the panelist/opinion types, however, are ridiculous. I can only imagine how over-the-top the evening line-up of Hannity etc. will be.
Kudos to Judge Napolitano for telling it pretty straight -- Barr was pretty accurate in summarizing how Mueller didn't get to prove-able conspiracy; Barr was misleading and not credible at all in his summary on the obstruction piece; while Trump is scot-free (sitting president thing) legally, he did obstruct and should be held accountable for that politically.
Nap had a nice metaphor for Mueller's and Barr's legal view of obstruction. You tackle me in the street and break my leg as I am heading into the courthouse to testify against you. I still manage to make it inside to testify. Barr says (wrongly) no obstruction because I still testified. Mueller and Nap say that is obstruction -- because you tried to interfere with my testimony.

And based on your Trump derangement you'd have gone along with all of it—cause he just doesn't deserve to hold the office. He's a pig. A bore. A disgrace and only deplorables would vote for him. You know—the kind of people you smell at WalMart. Like me.
