US Lax Mag All Americans

Cassidy Spilis of Rutgers not getting mentioned on any of the teams is an incredible oversight. Thoughts? others?

Kind of strange seeing that she was a first team AA last year and was on everyone's AA teams after last season.

Are you new to womens lacrosse? This shouldn't be a surprise at all. Just because she is an excellent player, Big Ten Midfielder of the year last season, she plays for Rutgers. If she wore the red of Maryland she would be a consensus AA.

Obviously tongue in check here, but it comes as no surprise to me. Unfortunately that is the way things are in lacrosse, and most places in life.
Or UNC, Cuse, BC, NW, SBU and by weird Lax political "rules" - FLA, Duke, ND

That's why preseason polls and lists don't mean squatah. The end of the season is all that really matters.

+1
Makes for discussion fodder, but no more.

While i agree with the criticism of the polls and player lists, is there actually a USA Lax Mag article listing the preseason AA's that is being discussed here? If so, I don't see it on the website.

Is is in the January issue of the magazine. Most should have it by now but it is not online as of today. They are currently posting the divisional polls. I would assume the AA teams will be next.

Spilis is on 1st team. If she was omitted from the print edition, that seems to have been an error (whatever happened to proofreading?) which they have now corrected.

Another observation is that not a single Ivy player is on any list. I know there isn’t usually a huge number, but for there not to be a single one from Penn, Yale or Princeton is a little bizarre to me, but agree with everyone that these lists are often a little ridiculous.

It def changed from print because Nails (unc) wasn’t first team either .

This kind of thing is completely out of control!!
Pre-season AAs is nuts enough, now we've got
pre-season POYs (don't remember seeing this before,
then again I pay little to no attention to pre-season
this and that)?

It's a lot. We clearly need some live lacrosse!
Maybe we should have preseason Fanlax wlax forum awards? I will nominate DMac preseason Swedish meatballer of the year.

Uh oh, this could open a real can of worms.
I can think of a couple of awards I'd hand out but I'm
thinkin' they'd land me in the box for an extended
period.
JFTR, the meatballs were award worthy, thnx.

Thought it only right to help get the meatballs out of your head.
Try these delectables. Baby backs with the Asian touch. Five spice,
white pepper, ginger, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice wine,
rice vinegar, garlic....cooked to tender perfection. The baby bellas are
a burst of taste bud delight too. Pretty crazy good, dipped in duck sauce
puts a fine finishing touch on it.
Note the focus, critical attention paid to that on this shot.
:D
