There are now a whopping 10 players listed at SSDM. That has to be a record. Behind Martin and Jaronski it's anyone's guess what the depth chart looks like. If Raposo can be an impact transition/two-way guy like he was for the Toronto Beaches this summer then that'd go a long way.
This the year for the long awaited Glassmeyer breakout (only half joking). And has Deans been hurt? I thought he was pretty good first part of his freshman year and then . . . just disappeared.

I think Webb is trolling us with the glasses - leaning into his nickname on this forum I guess.

The first line SSDM unit is one of the reasons to be optimistic about this team. They should be solid at LSM, and with their schedule everyone on the 1st midfield is likely an Alpha. Martin and Jaronski have the on ball and transition skills you want, except maybe not top notch in finishing. I don't think PM is giving them a red light, so I'd like to see them be a little more aggressive going to the goal. The second line is untested, with Glassmeyer, Raposo and Ince. Would like to see Reen and Billings show something just for the size.

Hopkins Magazine has an article on Paul Rabil and his olans for lax. I don’t know if there is a pay wall etc.

It felt like he hardly touched the ball after that but whenever he did he scored. If you score on 4 of your 6 shots you should probably shoot more but for whatever reason he was never given extended run. I don't think he starts on attack this year but a more consistent role at "midfield" where he can invert and move around on the right side might be in order.

Just need Peshko to be 100% to fully unlock him but unfortunately he's already missed time in the fall recovering from a summer box injury. Think he's fine for the spring but that's valuable time he won't get back.

On the other hand — fingers crossed it stays this way — Grimes had a full fall and is healthy entering preseason. He had 14 pts in his 7 healthy games last season and the eye test suggested the kid was starting to really put it together.

There's talent to work with but for the offense to meaningfully improve it will require at least one or two of these junior class guys to pop (include Evans and McDermott in there — but not including Raposo because it sounds like he's going to be used as more of a two-way guy).

You know what you're getting in Degnon and Angelus. Melendez is a bit of a question mark but one that sounds reasonably promising if he can shake the injury bug that plagued him at Marquette. If you can get one of the Freshman Trio to emerge, one or two of the guys above to stay healthy, and maybe someone like "The Best Freshman Since Joel Tinney - flalax" aka Stu Phillips to contribute then you'll have enough on that end of the field to be competitive with this schedule.
Fall ball hype. It will get you in trouble. See also Joe Pollard

Interesting article. I was down in Florida for one of my son's club lax tournament and I ran into 4 guys I played football with at Hopkins. A couple were older and a couple were younger. Two would have never know about lacrosse (well back in the 90s) but for going to Hopkins. Ine guy's son was a complete stud (not surprising given I played against him) and will likely be on the recruiting lists in the near future.

All had their sons playing lacrosse. None had them wanted their kids to play tackle football or were steering their sons away. Well, except for me. I let me son play whatever he wants and just finished up his 1st season of tackle football in 6th grade.

And to make this about the season...are we really only about a month away from the season starting. Sounds cold.

The Jays have played Saint Joseph's in the past. I recall a game in the 1990s as I remember when the Jays scored an all time number of goals at 31 ! The game ended early as a messy thunderstorm approached in the early evening. The previous high was 29 - 3 in 1959 against Loyola...a mid-week game that started at noon.

Personally not a fan, but if the players like them, I'm all-in.

Did Disney sponsor JHU Lax? Donald Duck and Angry Bird spawn is JHU’s lax logo? Is this UA envy of UMD’s uniforms?

Have you heard our fight song, “To Win?”

To win, to win,
You'd like like Hell to win.
But you'll have to wait,
'Til the moon turns green,
And the Brass Band plays "God Shave the Dean!"
Hi-lo, Hi-lee,
It's plain as A-B-C,
If anyone's going to win today,
It's we, we, we!

NAG refers to Neil A Grauer. Hopkins grad and caricaturist among other things.

I asked NAG for permission to use one of his drawings as my Lax Power avatar.

Personally, I am happy the current players still appreciate his work.

That logo was around long before Under Armor ever existed.

Hop's jerseys are still UA. Just the helmets switched back to STX because of the team's partnership with the company.

the wing or feather will always be the ugliest. I think they brought them into circulation during the poppleton era.

I kinda like the chicken wings as a change of pace.

One thing I'd like to see back that I don't think they have done in ages is the blue helmet with black visor combination. Granted I don't know if all the helmet manufacturers actually have the visor as a separate plastic piece nowadays but anything is possible with vinyl wraps/decals.
