Friday in a holiday season when no is paying attention as opposed to a tuesday or something when big organizations usually announce important news.

That stretch from February 11th to March 19th is absolutely brutal. Talk about death row in terms of extremely tough games.

Georgetown, UNC, Loyola, Utah, St Joes, UVA, Syracuse, Navy, Delaware.

Only one Friday/Sunday doubleheader this year instead of two, which is better, but that's been replaced with Tuesday night games vs. UNC and UVA (both at Homewood, thankfully). Maybe we catch the Hoos napping. A boy can dream.

Zero cupcakes on this schedule. PM putting a lot on the line here and it projects a certain level of confidence. After the last couple of seasons it would have been easy to dumb it down but he's dodging no one. In fact replacing Towson with St. Joe's might make it the toughest one (on paper) that we've had maybe ever?

Utah and Jacksonville on weekends, uva/unc on tuesdays. Amazing.

Johns Hopkins' 15 regular season opponents compiled a 160-82 (.661) record in 2022 with its 10 non-conference opponents rolling up a 107-53 (.669) record. In addition, seven of the 15 qualified for the NCAA Tournament with two of those teams advancing to championship weekend.

As they have every year since 2006, all Johns Hopkins home games will air on the ESPN family of networks. While that exact schedule has not been finalized, any games that do not air live on ESPNU will air live on ESPN+ (this is a change from year's past, when non-ESPNU live broadcasts were carried on WatchESPN/ESPN3); the ESPN+ broadcasts will then air via tape delay on ESPNU (generally within 24 hours). Television schedules for away games will be announced when available. Games not available on television will be streamed live by the host school.

we're now on the hook for big ten+ and espn+.

Syracuse probably the cupcake in that list. Will the statue they're building for Spallina be done in time for the game?

I would also add that the addition of Utah is big as well with their recent head coach having them run the table in the ASUN. They typically have grind it out games, and also beat Jacksonville plus Vermont.

I had forgotten about Delaware so 15 games and three 2 per week occurrences. I'm not sure PM has gotten the hang of this scheduling thing yet. Certainly can't accuse him of ducking. '06 I don't know why making brash statements - whether they are simply meant to be humorous or not - amuses you so but Syracuse of course will be very far from a cupcake. The Orange are probably still trying to figure out how they lost the game last year.

It was a joke. If you've seen the move the Little Giants, this rivalry feels like Gait has turned his group into Ed O'Neil's Cowboys w/all the hype and brashness while PM just grinds away at homewood w/out the IL cover boys.

PM also said last year he didn't like the tuesday games because of the class time situations but obviously somethings changed there. I really doubt as some have said elsewhere it was an attempt to catch unc or uva sleeping.

This is a really tough schedule but I'd take it over the manhattan umbc ones a decade ago.

On the flip side, I think playing UNC and UVA midweek is smart scheduling, though don't know if that was strategic or done out of necessity. We're probably not going to beat the Hoos, but if we do, a Tuesday night at Homewood might be how we do it. Those midweek games can be strange. Lot of upsets in recent years.

Not sure what to expect from Cuse this year. They will be a young team but likely improved in goal — and it'd be tough for them to be any worse on defense than last year. That game is best seen as a tossup until we have more information to go off of.

15-game gauntlet, you worry a bit about depth/injuries. Best to bank some quality wins early

Was happy to see you guys on the Syracuse schedule! Had heard Daniels was FINALLY and taking you to DIII. Must be next year that that's happening. Live and learn.

In any case, here's last years DIII poll, so you can get up to speed on the top DIII teams so that you hit the ground running when Daniels pulls that inevitable trigger. It'll help you sort out who the tough W's are.... (you're welcome!)

1 RIT (22 - 1) 20 (1) 2
2 Salisbury (20 - 2) 19 3

Not the first time, my man! And it won't be the last !

Tell your bud JHU06 not to worry about Spallina, and to focus his worry on Daniels.

Of course it really doesn't matter what i think but 3 instances of 2 games per week with none of them involving Little Sisters of the Poor is a real challenge. For example, the North Carolina game should be competitive - they have alot of new faces and I hope Chris Gray liked the end of days present Hopkins must have sent him. But it's 3 days after playing a loaded Georgetown team and 4 days before the Charles Street rivalry. Where's your mental energy going within that 7 days? Same thing with the other 2xweek stuff - between St. Joe's and Delaware - they will be playing 5 games in 15 days including 3 very historical rivals - UVA Syracuse and Navy and 2 teams that were in the tournament last year Delaware and St. Joe's.

That schedule is nuts. The GT-UNC-Loyola and St. Joe-UVA-SU weeks are “imprudent” at best and self-destructive at worst.

Oh well, I bet the players love it. That’s what Hopkins is about … playing the best. Supposed to be the best, too, but it’s going to be challenging to have a winning record with that schedule.
