To hide their identities — and the fact of their bigotry — from their neighbors, employers and others. The cowards can’t own it, unless they’re among their own narrow-minded loser crowd? Just a guess.
Wow!! Isn't that the same reason the antifa punks while doing your parties bidding also cover their faces?? They are also a bunch of losers among the same narrow minded crowd of p****es you rabidly support? When they are YOUR people involved in the racist intolerance all is cool and groovy in your world.......GOT IT!!! The basic point never changes. FRC hypocrisy is bad... very bad. FTR, what is the FLP criteria for labeling people as white supremacists?? I'm guessing the first step is being a Republican who lives in the south. If you voted for trump, then your an even huger monster.

It's a good development that the FBI is now involved (as attacking power grids is a FEDERAL crime). This should move the Andy Taylor sheriff out of primary responsibility for investigating this crime. Maybe his prayer buddy might get some further investigation and not by Deputy Barney Fife.

Also, it turns out there was a previous attack

https://nsjonline.com/article/2022/12/s ... ast-month/

"On Friday, Nov. 11, a property owned by the Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative (CCEC) in the Jones County town of Maysville was damaged. More than 12,000 CCEC customers were without power for approximately two hours, according to a statement from the cooperative.

CCEC monitors its system constantly, and soon after the outage occurred, crews were dispatched to begin the restoration process and found that the Maysville substation had been vandalized. The Maysville substation remains off-line, but CCEC is fully able to serve all of its members through other substations,” a Nov. 11 statement reads.

The total cost of the damage was expected to exceed $500,000 and insurance investigators are still working to determine the extent of the damage. The cooperative said the vandals damaged transformers causing them to leak coolant oil.

Much like the attack in Moore County, the attacks occurred close to military installations in the state. Maysville sits 33 miles from Camp Lejeune 41 miles from MCAS Cherry Point – two Marine Corps bases with nearly 50,000 active duty and reserve members enlisted.

Moore County sits just west of Fort Bragg, the largest military base in the United States. The substation attacks were first reported in Carthage, the Moore County seat which sits approximately 33 miles from the Army base.

In a press conference on Sunday, Dec. 4, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said the attack wasn’t random and the perpetrators “knew what they were doing.”

Law enforcement responded to the outages and found that two substations were damaged with multiple gunshots. A gate was rammed open at one of the properties to reach the intended target."

If you can find a post in which I "rabidly support" antifa, I'll give you a dollar. Your posts are just dumber and dumber, in this strange zeal to tar people with the broad, un-nuanced brush that paints your tiny, little crabbed world.

Can you elaborate on the significance of the solar arrays?
... solar arrays are meant for power generation. They are not generally part of a power grid substation. A substation's main purpose is to step down very high AC voltage (30,000 to 70,000 volts) to 110 and 220 normally delivered to the end user. Much higher AC voltages are more efficient for long distance transmission of AC electrical power. Simple but very large transformers are used to do this. Substations are also used to switch from one set of transmission lines to another using high power switches. Not all substations have this transmission line switching capability.

Solar arrays convert solar energy to a DC voltage which is useless for power line transmission. The power must first be converted to AC power and then put out on the power grid. This requires a different type of "transformer" than the run of the mill down converting transformers found in run of the mill power grid substations. To knock out the larger substation the folks needed to be able to identify both types of "transformer" and shoot them up. The solar arrays can be used for power generation when the sun is out and if attached to large battery array, the stored energy can be used for conversion to AC power when the sun is not shinning.

So the crux of the restoration problem is to replace the transformers who are converting the significant amount of solar power? which also may explain why they can't re-route power from elsewhere in restoration?

Yup, the transformers are the key. It is not clear how much of the power is solar vs traditional delivered by long range transmission line. I doubt that they are running the area entirely on solar. The first place to start is replacing, repairing the traditional transformers I would think. The solar may very well be back up power for Ft. Bragg, which would be lower priority under the circumstances. If it is primary for Ft. Bragg, of course it would be high priority.

I had not mentioned previously, there is a second very large substation with 100K + of solar panels located 5 miles to the southwest of the primary substation they attacked. It is the nearest neighbor substation of the primary, closer than the Carthage substation to the primary. This substation is farther from Ft. Bragg. Not immediately obvious what role this substation plays.

Thanks GOP, for giving these folks a voice in public affairs and culture.
Why do they cover their faces? Bunch of pu**ies
FRC hypocrisy is bad... very bad. FLP hypocrisy is good...very good. :D

FTR, what is the FLP criteria for labeling people as white supremacists?? I'm guessing the first step is being a Republican who lives in the south. If you voted for trump, then your an even huger monster.
You would guess wrong. Jesus what is the point of your ranting “yeah but” all the time. To demonstrate how small your worldview is?
Thank you for your kind and insightful opinion.
FTR... How are my rants any different from your rants??? ;)
Also for the record... Who the flying f**k cares about the opinions of Greek philosophers who have been dead for thousands of years? Your worldview is huge but based on obsolete observations from philosophers dead long, long, long, long, long ago. Fascinating stuff for you college eggheads but knowledge that is useless in a modern word. How has the philosophy of Plato expanded your horizons and made you a pretty penny in the process? 8-)
We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents.

 ...clarion call ? she's a nut job -- what qualifies her as violent ? any calls for violence ?
What is her "clarion call to violent nutjobs.
What has she said or posted that advocates or incites violence ?

She is also displaying very little concern for her neighbors who are out of juice until Thursday. 99.9% have nothing to do with drag shows in Southern Pines.
No.I would not want to serve with her & am glad she is out. I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did in the Army, but it's not easy to get rid of someone who is smart & stays within the corners of the law & the UCMJ. She has to be pretty sharp to have lasted as long as she did & to exit with an honorable discharge. None of that implicates her in this. You make fun of the local sheriff, but he's had to deal with her before & knows her. He would not go out on a limb & say what he has said, if he did not have confidence that she was not involved. All the attention focused on her is a distraction & illustrates how quickly partisans jump to conclusions. It diverts the public's attention from looking for reliable tip information.
Is she impacted by the power outage along with her neighbors ?

Facepalm.

The power is out in Moore County and I know why,” Emily Rainey wrote on her Facebook page less than an hour after the electricity failed.

Get it? Understand why folks might think she or her minions had something to do with it? Or MIGHT want some proper law enforcement to look here way?

Not exactly a huge leap there, OS. Stop pretending you don't understand this.

How does that incite violence ? That prompted the Sheriff to interview her & dismiss her as having a part in it. That did not stop all the distracting attention focused on her by partisan social media gadflies like you. Prompting speculation & a narrative still unsupported by evidence available to the public.

No one made her say that, OS. She said it all by herself. And instead of blaming HER for making herself a part of this story....you want to blame everyone else. Neat. And for the 100th time, no one has said she did it. Not me. Not the media. No one. Yet you're here to lecture us about buying what's on social media.

Anything else? You're really punching above your weight class this week with your nonsense.
