You are right, there are a lot of coin flip type games left in this league. I will give it a shot though... this is where I think it finishes:
1. Virginia 3-1
2-4. Duke/UND/SU 2-2
5. North Carolina 1-3

i think notre dame wins the blind draw. pretty obvious, luck o' the irish.
13 games makes much more sense than 12 for this reason. I think Notre Dame will be fine, though... even if it is much closer than they wanted/expected it to be.Dunker wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 6:16 pm To become AL eligible, ND will have to win 1st game of ACC tournament if they don't win 2 of their next 3 which could easily happen. (Duke, Cornell,Marquette). Stupid scheduling only 12 games, 9-10 which were difficult. 2 patsies would have been fine to get them AL eligible. SOS doesn't matter if you finish 6-7..
Winning the ACC title would be a nice feather in UVa's cap, but barring losses to Marist or VMI, I think UVa is a lock for the NCAA tmt. I think Duke is pretty much also a lock for the NCAA tmt.
Now only a UND>UNC result from hitting it.

Scenario 1: Notre Dame>North Carolina
ACC Tournament
Opening round: #4 Syracuse @ #5 North Carolina
Semifinals

#3 Notre Dame vs. #2 Duke

Scenario 1 looks correct to my eye, however, I believe Scenario 2 should be: Syracuse the 2 seed, as they beat both Duke and UNC (tiebreaker 1 applies instead of tiebreaker 2). Duke drops to the 4th seed as a result of losing the head to head to UNC as well. This makes Scenario 2 (UNC > ND) as:Hawkeye wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 6:42 pm Scenario 1: Notre Dame>North Carolina

Thanks! Fixed. I had forgotten that Syracuse had beaten both of those teams head to head. I was thinking it was another A>B>C>A type three-way tie.semsox wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 7:36 pm

For some reason several outlets have UNC as the #2 seed over SU if they beat ND and I can't figure out how they come to that conclusion. For SU it really doesn't matter because the game is at UNC anyway ( that ridiculousness is for another post) but just seems odd. The conference tourneys for Lax a bit of a mess. SU was the #1 seed last year and for its reward it got to play the 4 seed Virginia at UVA, which makes no sense. It should either be at a neutral site or at the #1 seeds home field.Hawkeye wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 7:49 pmThanks! Fixed. I had forgotten that Syracuse had beaten both of those teams head to head. They do play at a neutral site sometimes. Considerations against:JeremyCuse wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 12:18 pm The conference tourneys for Lax a bit of a mess.
