Thought Cuse fans were down on Cook and Rosa?
Cook's a popular guy on the team and a hard wordworker but he's unlikely to see much time this year due to not only the injury but the fact that he has been recruited over. Great HS player but it never translated to this level which is highly dissapointing.
Rosa was playing out of position at D-mid due to injuries. He actually played well but throws his body around with reckless abandon and was hurt a lot. Will have a chance to be in the top 6 middies.

Thought Cuse fans were down on Cook and Rosa?
I think a lot of the folks on the SyracuseFan forum were and are very down on Cook. I drafted him in fantasy, and had to subsequently drop him, but I will root for him still. He has a unique skill set. The previous coaches worked to find a role for him, including face off wings, and it seems the current coaching staff love him as well. I have to believe his teammates love him too. I haven't heard the same negativity regarding Rosa, but you're probably in a different position and more aware of that since he has Hobart connections. I think Cook and Fiorini are interesting captain choices, because it seems like their roles offensive roles are diminishing. Kol is a very interesting pick, because he didn't play a ton last year and he kinda plays the same position/role as Billy Dwan, who many thought would be a 4 year starter. Is Dwan now a 1 year starter?
Dwan is likely to start from day 1, he's looked very good in fall ball. He will see major minutes this spring. Kol is getting a long look with the injury to FIgueras and could start at close.

Schedules are mostly made in advance
Yes, and for whatever reason, we always have fans who want to make hay about them, and invent "reasons" why teams are added or dropped.
In the conference era, filling your OOC schedule ain't easy. It could be as simple as they didn't have an open date for Army, and vice versa.
BTW, Army stopped playing Syracuse during the Gait era, as so many teams did. The Gaits and SU dropped 19 on them in 1988..and then poof, no Army the next two years.
Too bad for both teams. Playing Syracuse in the dome is pretty awesome. Playing Army is also a great experience for the Syracuse players.
It's one of my favorite games, and has been for decades.
I think it was a mid-week game usually which also made it fun. Oh well.....
The Cuse/Army game was normally played on the weekend, usually a Sunday. Last year it had to be played mid-week to fit both teams schedules and both wanted to get it back to a weekend game this year and the rumor is they couldn't make it worth without doing it mid-week again.
Correct, JC, the Army game is not typically a mid-week game.
Pretty safe to say that most everyone enjoys the Army-Cuse game, both fans and players. Army always comes in the Dome guns blazin' and all kinds of fired up, it's always a hard fought (goes without saying when Army is on the field) and good game Obviously there's a reason the two couldn't get one another on their schedules this coming season. Best to just ignore troll lorin and his nonsense.

Why because I speak the truth, Desko had no problem scheduling Army on a weekend.

Not to be lost in the discussion is the pain of a 9 team Patriot League with a locked in bye week...it certainly makes scheudling that much more cumbersome. Happened at Navy vs JHU in recent years.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Right. Factors other than what someone trolling speculated.
Re Dwan comment above, no surprise that he's looking good...that's one who should transition well, IMO.

Same for Riley Fig. Its a minor setback for him, he certainly had a shot as a 1st year starter. Greet kid, even better family.

The Army boys have got plenty to look forward to, they'll be just fine.
Oh, and they're big boys, they don't need some POS troll to do their
talking for them. As for the no balls, that would more describe the
tough talking guy at his keyboard than the HC at Cuse.
That ship sailed a long time ago. And that’s coming from ME!
Never seen a rep of such a fine and honorable institution act like such a whiny victim all the time. And I know a guy who went to USMMA who was an absolute sexual predator, more or less saw the beginning of a Kids style “dorm worry Jenny it’s just me Casper” move on a borderline blacked out girl which was his style of romance as a operating standard…
Only a non nerd would have such a stupid come back, I am amazed that no Cuse fans want revenge after 2 big Army wins.
Cool one.

At the Swarm opener and they’re currently celebrating four retired players - now on Joel White though John Arlotta is talking a lot about his role in it all instead of White. Still folks here appreciate him, my son is a fan of the e tree tired goali MIke Poulin but wanted to learn more about White. Of course I told him, “the dude went to Syracuse don’t worry about it” but I suppose I’ll let him learn a little about Joel.

Enjoyed watching Joel play as much as any player who has come through Cuse, an absolutely gorgeous lacrosse player.
So smooth, so good, so steady, one of the absolute best LSMs ever. Played a huge role in gaining possession of the ball (stripped the player in possession) in regulation giving Cuse a chance to tie the game and then go on to win it in OT in the '09 NC game.

He’s great and killed us, Jr wanted to look up how he played against Bart and his Sr yr in 2011 he had 10gbs. My son just did this smile and wince thing he likes to do like “oh s*t he f**ked us up”, world star type look. Had 21gbs in 4 games vs Bart.
Nonetheless, my boy (and by extension my) favorite player also retired named Mike Poulin and we’re now adopting TJ Comizio who’s playing on a defensive unit with some bug dudes including Ethan Rall, MIke Manley and Brian Cole and he’s just abusing the Knoghthawk players tonight. Like some Mickey Ward/Arturo Gatti level mauling violence and he’s way smaller than the rest.

Great player who probably didn't get the full publicity he deserved while he was here. Best LSM Syracuse had had the last 10-15 years save for maybe Brett Kennedy when he was healthy and actually able to play at LSM versus having to drop down to close. White's outstanding play is made even more astounding when you consider he never played LSM in High School but was in fact an O middie and never played pole until he got to Syracuse.

Heck of a player for sure. Wasn’t Lade a LSM or close D? I’d have him up there as well.

Believe he played both at Nova but played strictly close at Syracuse. Again another player who is well known but probably never got the due he should have.
