Desantis got endorsements from all manners of environmental groups including the very influential Everglades Foundation. Partly why he won a purple state by 20%. We enjoy the weather down here in the winter, like millions of others. The one thing that is off-putting are the politics, eg the unrestricted, dumb development policies over decades, the gross under investment in education, etc...but weather makes up for a lot if you have the luxury of being in a great location and don't have kids to raise.

DeSantis began his governorship well on the environmental front, seemed like he might be able to govern to the middle, but then he tacked hard right to appeal nationally to MAGA-world. A shame.

But he's dead to me now.
