Do you think the alumnus should have pressed his kid to go to Rutgers instead? Seems like he made a nice choice for good academics and good lacrosse to me, not that there weren’t other good options out there.

No, just pointing out that Rutgers has a hard time even getting legacy kids

His younger brother is at Lehigh, they have another that’s a freshman at F&M and the youngest is committed to Salisbury.

Kurdyla is an RU legacy and his brother is joining the Knights next year. He is considered the best middie in NJ. Maybe the best overall player in the state. Cameron is a legacy of sorts as his uncle played at RU. There have been a number of legacies over the years. I don't recall too many going to other schools and seeing a lot of success.

There will be some Jersey kids in the current class, there always are. The roster has a number of kids from the state and has. Many of whom have been successful. If you ever speak to Coach Brecht about recruiting, he very much values having a diverse geographic roster. There will always be a lot of Jersey guys, but there will be kids from everywhere too.

That's two from one family and I am not sure that Cameron counts but ok, Colin is absolutely the best 2-way middie in the state and should have been Middie of the year. Could very well be player of the year in NJ next year.

Brian Cameron played for his dad at Bishop Guertin
New Hampshire,

Chris Cameron played at Walt Whitman Long Island and
then was an all timer at Lehigh.

While its interesting to try and justify that Rutgers should be
keeping talent in-state,

what’s more interesting is looking at their recruits,

the “raters” completely and totally whiffed on Ross Scott,
low rated in actual covered tournament play,

I’d say Scott has outperformed all but a handful of high
rated recruits from that class — a very good class, the
Shellenberger incoming class.

The "raters" whiff every year on every team. One of many....Ajax Zappitello.

Zappitello was literally a Top 70 recruit in his class. If you don’t want to put any stock in the rankings fair enough but he is in no way an example of the raters “whiffing”

Raters also wiffed on Knobloch, Rall and Russo. Rall is probably the best returning LSM in the country.

Raters also missed on Reynolds, who is Rall’s backup and played in every game as a freshman. Kid was unranked but somehow played his way to 1st team MIAA / 1st team all state. Guarantee you the college coaches didn’t miss him.

The lack of "stars" on him was perplexing. People that follow MIAA lacrosse all knew who he was and said he was thought to be one of the top 2 D guys in that league. He was seen and recruited by big time schools. How Ty Xanders missed him just proves the point. These rankings are all taken with a huge grain of salt. The amount of resources by people that know what they are seeing is very minimal.

The Ross Scott call out was very accurate. He played in a lot of tourneys and tore it up. Coach Brecht was very excited to land him. Not sure how his camp success didn't translate to stars.

What a great weekend for the alums and current team, celebrating those who played in last year's first Final Four team. Always one of the best weekends in the program.

speaks to the leadership from the homegrown guys - scott, russo, knobloch, sprock.

seems like the attack is scott, cameron and a mix of guys - mentioned teresky, aimone, kurdyla, murphy and dollive.

spoke to the freshman cardin stroller, looking comfortable in net.

defense of russo, apgar and jones with rall at LSM. thats legit.

Rutgers team of this year will look different than last, returning a solid core of players but a lot of new guys that will be plug and play, mainly as SSMD, new goalies, etc. Decker, Miller, Daniels, Kulas, Civetti are additional names that will contribute. Did not see Remi Reynolds name mentioned as a returning defensive starter and he had a solid freshmen campaign. Should be a fun season On the Banks.

Kulas will have to be in mix at attack. He's too good of a shooter to keep on the sidelines and was getting run in the last two games scoring a big goal against UPenn.

Reynolds is going to be very good. By the time he's an upperclassman he has the makings of one of the best poles in the country. Wouldn't be surprised to seem him have a monster year. With arguably the best LSM in Rall playing in front of him that's a great combo.

Didn't Sean Creter win NJ Middie of the Year last year?
