Re: Benedictine
Best wishes to Coach B and his family as they change course, he has done a good job with the Raven's. Several new Coaches in the KCAC in the last few season. I hope they continue to maintain the status as a quality Conference.
Your preparations of today, will determine the achievements of tomorrow.
Re: Benedictine
Anyone have any insight into this program and the school in general?
Curious where folks would put the caliber of play of NAIA compared to NCAA with the understanding that there can be a huge variance in all levels.

Re: Benedictine
BC is a good school, really good athletic department compared to the rest of the NAIA. They could jump D2 if they wanted. Now they are in the middle of nowhere Kansas but hey most D2 schools are in the middle of the sticks.
As for where they stack up to NCAA programs....I wouldn't rank lacrosse programs based on level of play alone. You almost need to rank them on region and level of play. For a varsity program in that region I would say they are decent. They cant compete with Rockhurst or Lindenwood but they can play with D3 and some D2 programs out in the Midwest and West.

Re: Benedictine
This is embarrassing for Benedictine and the NAIA. I have it on good authority that a former D1 coach and coach of the year applied for this position and didn’t event get an interview.DQKing wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 7:49 am This happened:

Just proves a lot of peoples beliefs that these ADs will go the cheap/easy route when hiring a coach.
Don’t count on Benedictine being a tournament team anymore.
Re: Benedictine
So you are saying a former D1 coach of the year wanted to head to Kansas to coach at a NAIA school?
Interesting.
Interesting.
Re: Benedictine
Not completely out of the ordinary though. Coach Burdick at Webber was the MAAC coach of the year during his tenure at Providence. Not saying he is the coach in question here, just that there are those caliber coaches taking NAIA jobs

Re: Benedictine
Exactly. Benedictine is a solid spot too. Arguably best facilities in the NAIA for lacrosse, and it’s right outside KC.
For them to just go grab the Midland coach cause he’s local is a huge mistake by the AD. They could of landed a powerhouse coach and made moves. It worked for the womens program, it could work for the men as well.
