Agreed. That is a losing scenario for everyone involvedLaxaholic123 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 9:50 am I know it is unlikely, but I really hope that Warren Wilson doesn't join this lacrosse conference. That drive for any of the teams is ridiculous. Especially for a team that lost by 17 to FERRUM!!

Re: C2C & NJAC Joining Together
Based on LaxNumbers https://www.laxnumbers.com/ratings.php?y=2022&v=403 last year this conference had the following end of year rankings:
CNU: 2
Salisbury: 4
Stockton: 30
Montclair St: 62
UMW: 66
Kean: 69
I am excited for some competitive lacrosse this spring and maybe some big upsets!
Extra: Warren Wilson is ranked 243 (only 3 teams lower). Nothing from CLC to say that they are joining yet. Really hoping they don't make the cut.

Any chance St. Mary's jumps ship and joins?

Could you please send a link? I know they joined the C2C but haven't found anything about the CLC which I believe is considered an independent conference and does not require all C2C teams in the conference.

Re: C2C & NJAC Joining Together
It would make more sense travel wise, but I don't see it happening in the next 5 years or so seeing that they just joined this new conference. But I would love to see them come over, it would bring one more competitive public school and strengthen the conference even more.
Re: C2C & NJAC Joining Together
My son played at Mary Wash and while I’m excited they have found a home those are going to be some LONG bus rides up 95 on a Saturday. Even worse for CNU
Re: C2C & NJAC Joining Together
Here you go. I genuinely don't understand the point in adding them to the C2C beyond artificially making the conference larger.Laxaholic123 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 1:18 pmCould you please send a link? Not sure if it was intentional or not, but mens lacrosse was not mentioned in that article when they listed the sports sponsored by the C2C…they mention womens lacrosse though…

It was listed as a story in the mens lacrosse news section of the WW sight. I know it’s hard to accept but it’s happening. 8-9 hour bus rides for the NJ teams to WW for conference games. Rumors also going around the Southern Virginia may be going C2C as well.

They are in the same football conference already, the travel was never an issue.DeepPocket wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 12:59 pm It’s about 6.5 hours from the Kean/Montclair area to CNU…

SVU just joined the USA South Conference, so seems unlikely they would jump back to the C2C.

Re: C2C & NJAC Joining Together
Will this conference be beginning in the spring of 2023? Looks like Kean is already increasing their strength of schedule by adding Stevenson

Agreed. The only current way I can see that changing is if football drives the move and to jump from the USA South.

Tentative schedule for UMW. Conference play in April, and no WW on the schedule at least for this year.

Evidently this schedule is not 100% complete. They are also supposed to play WAC & DeSales.Yeti_33 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 9:18 am https://umweagles.com/sports/mlax/2022-23/schedule

Not sure why two conferences are coming together. The top two spots will always be Christopher Newport and Salisbury. Now, Salisbury did lose Cross and Jack. But, they will still be really good.SneaksBeac wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 10:49 am Playing in a stable conference with an AQ provides all schools involved with guarantees in regards to games, competition, and post season awards.
As long as Salisbury and CNU stay on the trajectory they are on they are pretty much always guaranteed a pool A and C bid within this new conference. If they stayed in a non AQ conference (C2C) they run the risk of potentially having a down year by there own standards and not making the NCAA tournament.
