Actually, I think his anecdotes are part of the reason QK broadcasts the biggest events in college lacrosse. It is those broadcasts that potentially bring in non-lacrosse fans. Commentators like Mark Dixon (a personal favorite of mine) who focus on calling the game are good for devoted lacrosse fans, but probably not so much for viewers who are just tuning in for a big game and who are unfamiliar with lacrosse.flalax22 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 12:09 pmSounds like a great resume. Fortunately for the rest of us who are able to take off the Hopkins colored glasses occasionally we can see that Quint and his like are actually what stalls the progress of the sport. The constant inside jokes, references to local eateries, MIAA schools and useless unrelated facts make watching broadcasts unbearable. Quint thinks he’s prepared because he writes down one or two “facts” about a player on his prep card instead of actually doing his homework and calling a game.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 9:51 pmQuint Kessenich has contributed to the broadcast of every Division I national lacrosse championship since 1995.LaxFan2000 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 9:10 pmHis and only his measure. Are you sure it’s “arrogance”?

Can you name a single person who can claim the same?
He is the top lacrosse commentator for the top network covering Division I college lacrosse, ESPN. Not my opinion, simply his professional status on the network.
Barring some unforeseen event, Quint K will be covering the 2023 Division I national lacrosse championship.
Those are just the facts. Pretty good measures, don’t you think?

Quint’s comments about the aromas of Italian sausage sandwiches and his colorful tales may annoy some lacrosse fans, but they are probably something that new viewers can identify with and relate to while watching the broadcast.
Anyway, Quint K is definitely one of the more charismatic lacrosse commentators. It’s why ESPN has kept him employed for over a quarter century. It’s why he is the top commentator in college lacrosse.
