Any idea where Coach Malone is headed?
Or is he among the growing trend of coaches moving on to other things outside of coaching lacrosse?
First of all, ya better check your tone. I dont think you know who you're talking to. I'm Leonard Washington...I don't get butt naked for nobody!!

I thought Kyle Hannon was a baseball player at Penn Statelaxdad30 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 4:11 pmCheeseandcrackers wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 3:56 pm Yes, Kyle Hannon was at Goucher, then Mercer, then Queens and now back to Goucher apparently
I am definitely a fan of the hire as Coach Hannah brings experience and credibility back to Goucher. Good luck to him (I wonder if he will be able to bring some of those club players up north with him).

This seems like a fairly solid hire. Good experience on the resume, local kid. Hopefully it's a good fit both ways.SneaksBeac wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 12:02 pm Brockport is official.

I agree this is a great hire. Program will rebuild quickly. Hopefully, it stops the cycle of small D3 college hiring young coaches with little experience..... which doesn't seem to work in most cases.

This is a really interesting topic. I think the reason why these small d3 schools are hiring young coaches are very much two foldOld&InTheWay wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 10:35 am I agree this is a great hire. Program will rebuild quickly. 1. Younger D3 coaches are desperate to "stay in coaching"(making a livable wage/take any step up) will take any job under the sun, just to move up an inch
2. Schools can low ball these coaches in wage

I agree with you. This hire sends a message that Goucher is serious about their program and supports it's, rebuild. Schools low balling coaches and hiring young coaches with little experience and success sends the exact opposite message (red flag), that hinders development, growth and eventually success for the program. Not a good way to grow the game.

Are we talking about Brockport? If so didn't they make the conference playoffs this past year?

Nevermind I just read your post and it was for KH and Goucher.Leonard Washington wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:36 amAre we talking about Brockport? If so didn't they make the conference playoffs this past year?
We can bash (rightfully so) a number of these administrations for some of their less than stellar hires. Let's not also forget some of these candidate pools have not been the greatest either and these schools are looking for the quick, easiest and cheapest route they can go

No bashing here. I fault no young coaches for trying to "move up" and make a living in coaching. My oldest is a college coach and knowing what he makes(at a pretty well known and competitive D3 institution) this for the most part is a group not doing this for the money. These guys work their tails off and there are definitely very, very good coaches(better then guys more successful programs) that are at programs that are not lighting the world on fire at the D3 level for alot of reasons that are most certainly not them.

I have it on good authority that, Coach has moved on to things outside of coaching lacrosse and is quite pleased.
