Exactly. I didn’t want to mention pensions because I wasn’t entirely sure but it’s a good possibility. Retirement packages too. They have also been at their respective schools so long they have probably set roots down in the community as welltothedraw wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 9:32 pmThey are probably the most well paid assistant coaches when you count camps and state pension/health care, are very good at their jobs and have a positive work environment. Maybe schools have tried but they just like where they're at? That would be my guessKleizaster wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 7:28 pm Curious as to why no program has poached UNC assistant coach Phil Barnes yet. Probably the best in the game IMO, and an ace recruiter, well respected in the lax community, a player's coach through and through, and he's helped Levy build that program. He's also been a headcoach before. He has all the tools to turn a midling program around.

Cathy, Lauri and Caitlyn are very close. They have a great working relationship and strong friendships. I never hear about Lauri looking to be an HC. My guess is that someone would have to come with an outta-the-park offer to lure her away from College Park.

Yes I definitely didn't mean to imply that Kenis was looking to leave CP or leave for a head coaching job - she's just another example of a well-known long-time assistant coach who seems to be content where they are for now. And you bring up another good point that I think tothedraw referred to by saying "positive work environment' - liking your coworkers and having a good working relationship with them is not always easy to findLarryGamLax wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 3:14 amwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 9:43 pmExactly. Just curious: what makes people say this is a good hire? She was a very good player, and has worked under an under-performing coach for some years. Are y’all being polite? No offense to her; I really just want to understand if these plaudits are coming from somewhere with evidence that she’ll be a good head coach.
Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
I only have a connection with TVT through Loyola and her sister. So, my "great hire" is based on my pleasure in her getting that job, not on her abilities to do the coaching. I don't know how good a coach she is or will be. I do like her as a person.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 2:43 pmJust curious: what makes people say this is a good hire? Thanks Doc. I assumed you had a connection to the younger VT, and that's a good reason to say "great hire."Dr. Tact wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 2:56 pmI only have a connection with TVT through Loyola and her sister. My knowledge of her is also of a more personal nature. She is a really positive person.Dr. Tact wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 2:56 pmI only have a connection with TVT through Loyola and her sister.
