Not an insider at HP, but assume the money will come from being handed the keys to the feeder program for Highland Park. In Texas, Highland Park high school is broadly referred to as the nicest private school in the state - except it is public.

It is the single high school for 2 of the 3 most expensive neighborhoods in Dallas. Significant number of families with 10,000 sf houses on 5-10 acres five minutes from downtown Dallas. Lots of dough to throw at club and rec league that creates an awesome funnel of talent for HP high school. Of course they lose some of those kids to Dallas Jesuit, St. Marks and Episcopal School of Dallas, but they keep plenty.

also worth noting, lacrosse is not a state sanctioned sport - it is a CLUB sport. Coaches don't have to teach, and the parents association can pay the coach what ever they want....

A few lacrosse standouts from HPHS...Cade Saustad (Virginia), Owen Seebold (Syracuse), Colby Kneese (Penn State), Chris Hipps (Duke). Then you have Matthew Stafford (LA Rams Super Bowl QB), Clayton Kershaw (LA Dodgers World Series Pitcher), Scottie Scheffler (PGA #1 Ranked Golfer). School churns out some studs.

Most Lacrosse programs at Texas high schools are still club sports, certainly true at Highland Park, so funded by board/parents and not school so pay is likely high.

Welcome to Texas Mike Pressler! Let's grow the game!

facilities are probably as good or better than a lot of d1 programs and unlike Hopkins looks like they have an indoor area.

Little surprised that no school has pulled the trigger on hiring a new coach yet....

Seems like a quiet year for change in any event, so maybe not a lot of pressure on the programs trying to nail down the next coach.

If Benson does leave, the Maryland O.C. hire will be very interesting.
Can Georgetown pay as much as Maryland?

Risky move....about the only place to go is down, could be a career ending move if the cupboards do not stay packed.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Not sure it is all that risky. Seemingly every assistant coach that works there ends up getting a HC opportunity. Benson (if this rumor is true), Reppert, Conry, Moran, Warne. I think Maryland is going to be alright in the talent department going forward too.

Take a stroll through that account and it doesn’t come off as very legitimate. I’d wait for someone more respectable to announce something.

Good question. But I haven’t seen any reports that have credibility yet.

Chris Jast has Brad Ross linked to NJIT- that seems improbable- no one is winning there- impossible to recruit to. Good academic school in an impossible location.

I think he actually linked Ross to Bryant - where he was an assistant under Pressler.

Mike Phipps career is going to end by going to Maryland OC, a position in which the last 3 occupants have gone on to head coaching jobs, is an interesting take

This fellow has the two assistants coaching staff at Michigan either being contacted by a school or throwing his hat in the ring at a school. Who knows which it is, and not sure what to think about that. What do you do if you are the HC—start calling potential replacements now, or wait?

Are we 100% certain Conry is going to be their HC for the 2023 season?

Ive heard Conry wouldn't be too disappointed if Ski was to get another job... and I know Ski has been dying to get back to the east coast and as pointed out how long will anyone be at Michigan from the current staff, seems like wins all around

Yes. Michigan would’ve let him go already if they planned on moving on this year. But the seat is hot. It certainly should effect what type of assistant they can attract if they move on.
