So regions have started, I hear. I was able to find a few games coming up but if anyone can break thru the shroud of secrecy and publish the full brackets that would be helpful. Win teams move on. Lose it is tears, hugs and turn in your jerseys. Perhaps an upset or 2 in The Season of The Blowouts? Who will make it to 6A States?

ROBO vs Alex City - this should be a barn burner. (Kidding)
LB vs West Springfield - Can the Bruins bounce back from the WestPO debacle and make a run?
SOCO vs West PO - easy W for the Wolverines.
Oakton vs Yorktown - 14-6 W over Langley in Districts. Impressive W for Coach B and the Pats.
Woodson vs Hayfield - Cavs draw Justice in first round. Now Hayfield in quarters. Who next, Kinder Care?
Madison?
Battlefield?
Patriot?

Record setting heat forecasted for this Friday and the weekend. Drink water!

Region D seems to be this:

Madison (Concorde #1) vs. Washington-Liberty (Liberty #4) - Madison should crush W-L
Langley (Liberty #2) v. Westfield (Concorde #3) - Langley beat Westfield by 1 in OT earlier in the season

Yorkton (Liberty #1) vs. Oakton (Concorde #4) - Yorktown beat Oakton 12-6 earlier in the season
Centreville (Concorde #2) v. McLean (Liberty #3) - Centreville beat McLean 9-4 earlier in the season

For Region C

SOCO and West Po have played twice and split, both one goal games. Not sure it is an easy W for West Po.
I'm assuming the Robinson prediction is a joke - already beat Alexandria City 14-1.
LB has already crushed West Springfield twice. Should be an easy win.
No idea how Woodson pulled that draw.
Is it set up that Robinson/LB would be the final if they both win out?

Region C Quarters

Alexandria City (Patriot #5) @ Robinson (Patriot #1)
West Springfield (Patriot #7) @ Lake Braddock (Patriot #3)

Woodson (Patriot #4) @ Hayfield (National #1)
South County (Patriot #6) @ West Potomac (Patriot #2)

Region 6B Bracket (I think)
Colonial Forge @ Battlefield
Colgan @ Freedom SR
Woodbridge @ Patriot
Champe @ Forest Park

I think that LB would meet Rob in the Semis, due to loss to WestPo in district Semis
The 6C that I came up with has LB in the 3 seed which 'theoretically' would matched them against the 2 from National (Falls Church)

I think next season Patriot and Battlefield should be forced to play a seven game series to open the season with the winner automatically qualified for the state semi-final.

Sounds good. The winner gets one semi-final spot, and the loser gets the other semi-final spot (just like it will be this year). Cosby certainly isn't going to stop them - they just lost to 5A Douglas Freeman 14-3.

I am guessing that they meant James Madison instead of Jamestown in this bracket correct?

Yes - not the most attention to detail over there.

Is it true there was a forfeit in the State Quarterfinals yesterday? 1 team didn't want to make the drive to play?

There was a forfeit (James River) which sets up the 5th meeting between Patriot/Battlefield this season. Pretty incredible they let a team bail on playing in a state tournament quarterfinal

Yorktown over Lake Braddock 13-7. Pretty dominant win. 5-1 in first half, 8-6 starting the 4th, then it was light's out. Looking like the defending champs are not going to give up their title without a fight. Soph attack (Greene) with 10 (5 and 5) points to outscore the 2 D-1 LB recruits all by himself. Those 2 are very good - have to give credit to Yorktown coaches for a game plan to limit their impact. Rematch from Region finals with Madison.
