Well,
Pressler shouldn’t need the money,
so, growing the game in Texas sounds like a tremendous opportunity.

Pressler-One of the top examples of a coach at any level of lacrosse who has been a pure program-builder!

That is a very easy & and potentially likely move. However, I am curious if the administration is interested in reviewing interested candidates that might have head coaching experience.

You can make a comfy, far less stressful, 6 figure salary at some Texas schools.

From what I understand, Highland Park I a pretty well established program. I know hs lax is relatively new in Texas, but they have sent players to DI since before Tierney went to Denver. I can’t recall their names now, but there were twins from Highland Park—wide receivers for Matt Stafford if my memory serves me well—who played midfield for Munro.

Six figures coaching hs lax? I knew that to be the case with hs fb but didn’t realize lax coaches could make that much in Texas. I’m assume that, like hs fb coaches, he wouldn’t teach.

This would be an interesting job because I don't believe it is technically a "school-sponsored" sport, which I don't think is uncommon for Texas public schools. So he may be making his salary through the program's "board of directors" and might basically be employed by lacrosse parents and alumni. But yeah, they are pretty "established' as far as TX lacrosse goes. 11 DI and DII championships (two varsity teams, one competes in D1 and one competes in D2) since 2004.molo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:18 pm From what I understand, Highland Park I a pretty well established program. As for the school itself, I heard a story that an NFL team (maybe the Packers?) used their facilities to prep for the Super Bowl a few years ago. Players were apparently asking, "what college are we at again," during their walkthroughs in the indoor fieldhouse...

I like to think we beat him so bad in the NEC playoffs he thought he was still at OWU taking beatings from us and in his old age threw up his hands and decided “f**k it I’ll go to Texas”. Certainly have forgotten some of his revenge tour at Duke on us late 90s/early 2000s.

Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

I believe the former President retiring opened the door for Coach Pressler to leave/semi-retire. The former President transformed the school and helped Pressler build that program. I believe Pressler said as long as the President was there, he would coach Bryant. Nothing against the new President but Pressler may not feel as obligated to stay around.youthathletics wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:17 pmYou can make a comfy, far less stressful, 6 figure salary at some Texas schools.

Was that the $6,000,000 man? I know they had a president who got them out of some financial trouble who made out pretty well for himself.

Yes. The President left last year. He did a remarkable job. Both guys leave big shoes to fill. Buddy’s son was a captain there.youthathletics wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 5:37 pmI recall that interview....I believe it was 60 Minutes?Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 5:08 pmI believe the former President retiring opened the door for Coach Pressler to leave/semi-retire.
