Insane that they beat BC 3 times in a season with the supposed GOAT CN at the helm..where do we rank this UNC team among the greats? What they did this season is insane and very hard to do, especially in the shot clock era. The MD and NU teams of yesteryear lose points for playing stall ball. Still those teams were legendary. I'd put them top 3. In terms of raw talent on paper they're probably number 1.8meterPA wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 3:29 pm great game, great weekend. Congrats to UNC for completing their undefeated season. Really hard to beat a team 3 times in a season, especially the caliber of BC. Geiersbach may be the MVP of the final 4 - scored the last 4 of the NW game and the first 2 of this game to set the tone.

Worth noting that the 2017 MD team went undefeated in the first year of the shot clock.Kleizaster wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:10 pmInsane that they beat BC 3 times in a season with the supposed GOAT CN at the helm..where do we rank this UNC team among the greats? I’m no women’s lacrosse expert, but didn’t this “#1 of all time” team win 4 games by just 1 goal?
Re: The Final: UNC v. BC 5/29/22 Noon
FWIW, I think it was easier for BC to beat UNC in the semis (in 2021) with almost a week's rest than it is to beat UNC in the Finals (in 2022) with less than 48 hours of rest. Especially when BC relies so much one a handful of people and especially one person.

I think they’re top 5 but not sure I say they’re the best of all time

well i mean..one goal games are part of the game? and there is far more talent spread out and more teams now then ever before. They had to beat talented teams multiple times. It's unlikely we'll see another undefeated champ for awhilePeter Brown wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:47 pmKleizaster wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:10 pmInsane that they beat BC 3 times in a season with the supposed GOAT CN at the helm..where do we rank this UNC team among the greats? I don't know if they're even top 5. UNC has had teams comparable to this, and better, in the past. Do a little research and you might be surprised at the level of talent that UNC has had coming through Chapel Hill over the past 27 years.
*And factor in the whole pandemic thing and how the transfer portal played a part for both UNC and BC.

Well deserved. I was chatting with a four year Richmond teammate of hers the other day, a defender. I asked what it was like to guard Geiersbach. She said she'd seen that inside crease roll all the time in practice. Said (with great affection and a laugh) that she could tell what she was going to do whenever she had the ball. Also said the Richmond team planned to be at the game today to root her on.wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 6:24 pmGeiersbach named NCAA tournament Most Outstanding Player8meterPA wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 3:29 pm great game, great weekend. It sure looked cool on tv with the stands full and kids hanging over the fence.
What a coup for women’s lacrosse. Great weather, great teams, great contest, and packed stands. Homewood ought to vie to keep hosting.

I have an odd question. Brownlax, you were there, right? Was there a band? They never showed a band on camera, but you could hear a band at times, much like at a college football game. Please God tell me that ESPN didn’t pipe in the band sound.

Man the UNC v BC rivalry is becoming intense and fierce. Even more so than before. Has it now become the premiere rivalry in the sport over UNC v Maryland? What the best rivalry in womens D1 lax?

I responded to the question of them being the Best of all-time. Is that not what I did? As George Costanzo said "Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?"Brownlax wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 9:03 pmCome on Larry - how about a simple congrats to UNC and Jenny Levy on an amazing undefeated season.
