The Final: UNC v. BC 5/29/22 Noon
Game thread. Third time for these two teams. UNC won the first 16-15, and the ACC Final 16-9. Just looking for a good game. The Semis sure didn't disappoint.

Hard to beat a good team 3x. Also hoping for a good game, no injuries

Unfortunately, I will not be able to watch. Soooo sad! I will be searching for coins in Fairmount Park with my new Metal Detector.

Even harder to win back to back titles. I think this is BC's 5 or 6th straight title game. UNC's first since 2016. One of these streaks gotta give..which one? your guess is as good as mine. Felt like the semi's was UNC's mental block. They got over that in insane fashion, feels like the team of destiny. i doubt they comeout that slow again. Also i think UNC is a terrible matchup for BC. 13-10 UNCwlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 7:51 am Hard to beat a good team 3x. Also hoping for a good game, no injuries

No clue who wins. I am interested to see how BC plays the UNC defense. They locked off 45 last night and 9 as well at times. I wonder if they will employ the same strategy in the Championship. If they do who do they lock up? IDK if I would like to give the UNC dodgers in creased space to go 1 v 1 in a more open 6 v 6 field or 5 v 5 field. Will be interesting to see.

BC loves playing in the final 4, so they’ll be confident. However I’m not sure I see JO leaving Chapel Hill without a national championship

Game is sold out. What a great atmosphere we will have at Homewood tomorrow. Friday was great as well. They should make It the permanent home like Omaha is for Baseball.

I still can’t get over the fact that UNC was able to come back from a 7 goal deficit to win over NW; that really shows what they are made of. However, other than that, it’s a toss up for me, both BC and UNC are loaded with grit and talent. If I HAD to pick one, I’d say UNC by 2. Very excited for an amazing game on Homewood.

Maybe BC will go up 6-0 in the 1st...

Yep, I agree. Put the games at a venue that the fans who want to attend will come to and fill.

My take:

I think the team that is able to avoid giving up the early run is the one who will win it. Then again, no lead is safe.

Exactly. Why not use Homewood field as the permanent location? The NCAA uses Charles Schwartz Field in Omaha, NE every year for the men’s baseball. I would wager that if they have good weather, the site would sell out every year. Hofstra is another venue that could work well every year.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 6:44 amYep, I agree. Don’t they also hold the USA National Lacrosse Tournament in the same area as the national championship every year? I’m sure that helps attendance numbersSeacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 6:44 amYep, I agree. Put the games at a venue that the fans who want to attend will come to and fill.

To a point. A number of the championship games are being held the morning of, so some of them actually will wind up playing at the same time the D-1 final is.

Yes true. It would be nice if they could schedule it so the tournament is over before the NCAA final, but I get that there are a lot of logistics involved, especially for a tournament that size!
