Towson has become Maryland’s JV squad.
Transfer Portal 2023
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
The goalie I was told is transferring to Towson is from a B10 program other than Maryland.

Virginia might not need much. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think they only lose Moore from their starting lineup. Schutz will replace him at attack and they have McConvey from Vermont transferring in to play midfield. Plus they have a very good freshman class coming in with Sunderland and Terenzi. I guess I’d be surprised if they went big in the portal but I guess you never know. The Orfling wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 5:37 pmSpeaking strictly as a Yale alum/fan and not any kind of insider, my guess is that these two guys, both of whom are tremendous leaders as well as players, wouldn’t have wanted to cause any distraction while Yale was still playing. With Yale’s season done as of Saturday, and Yale’s Commencement soon to take place on 5/23, I wouldn’t be surprised if come late May we see one or both in the portal. Maybe even a “Denver 2021” situation where they try to go to the same place. I will be rooting for them if they decide to play another year in 2023 in every game except if they’re playing Yale.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 5:28 pmAre Fake and Tevlin in the portal? They were put on the list but then taken off. Fake was originally a UVA commit and you'd think Lars would give him a call although it sounds like they're bringing back all of their defensemen. The Orfling wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 5:24 pm Are a bunch of top tier portal guys or seniors from eliminated Ivies getting texts from a Charlottesville area code tonight?

Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Lars just said they will study this Maryland team hard because of their (so far) historic success, and come back stronger next year. I am sure a big part of that is accumulating the best talent possible, and the portal is a huge part of that.Powellfan22 wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 9:19 pmVirginia might not need much. Both, along with Eschbach were in the portal over two weeks ago.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 5:28 pmAre Fake and Tevlin in the portal? They were put on the list but then taken off. Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Lars is incredibly loyal to his returning players, especially those he recruited. I think that has hindered him from diving into the portal fully like Duke and the Terps. That said, after this debacle of a game, he may feel that he has no choice. Fake? Sure! More offensive middies who can score? Sure! Five formerly star middies who want to be d-middies and get a ring? Sure! A star attackman to team up with Shelly? Sure! Bring them on. It has worked for the Terps. The shark has been jumped.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 9:27 pmLars just said they will study this Maryland team hard because of their (so far) historic success, and come back stronger next year. I don’t think it’s as simple as ‘take some guys off the portal and win a Natty’. You need the right character guys, the right coach, and the right system. Portal transfers aren’t de facto the missing pieces; you can easily envision where a transfer can harm a teams culture.
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Hopefully, Rutgers can pick up sam Handley from Penn and the harvard goalie in the transfer portal.

If Handley is looking the Terps say “hi, do you like winning?”

Re: Transfer Portal 2023
njlaxx, why are you laughing? we got Bartolo and they were both captains at Penn. Rutgers is definitely a potential landing spot for transfers now.
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
njlaxx11, I agree but why is it outlandish to think we get Handley? Please explain.
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Because if you're a 1st Team AA Penn grad looking to get a bogus one-year "management" degree, places like Duke and UVA (or Notre Dame, whatever) are way more attractive than Rutgers, no matter how well Rutgers is doing this year.
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
OK, how "bout a good faceoof guy, Sisselberger from lehigh sounds good to me.
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Bartolo could have went to at least two of those schools that I know of. He chose to come to Rutgers. So your statement is incorrect.
Good decision. He'd have been sitting home watching.

Per Matt Kinnear: "Transfer Portal news: @Bryant_MLax attackman Logan McGovern is in the portal, multiple sources have said. He's a graduate but has two years of eligibility remaining. 54 points in '22 (35A)."
