Don't forget the farm bill (and virtually every one before it).

Or Trump handing out money to businesses affected by his tariffs.

And that's just the past few months.

Guess planet TAATS is a myth, but it's just sad that well thinking folks don't care to see reality. Just sad, really

And only $700 Billion in the three spending bills they passed were for the military. That leaves $2 Trillion for handouts and socialism.

"But that doesn't count as socialism, because we sez so", bark the Republicans.

The Founding Father’s did good. They also recognized they weren’t perfect and allowed for changes. I read 6’ quotes and then thought to myself does Trump embody those virtues?

That's an easy question to answer. Those so called "best and brightest" white men of their times would have no problem seeing the two year old pretender for what he is. With the possible exception of the North Carolina and South Carolina delegations, no one would have given the clown the time of day.

Yup......a clown. Agree. (tRump) What's the approval rating of Congress right now? (calling AFAN) Two years ago? The pretends think they are elite clowns

https://www.theclownschool.com/, but a clown is a clown. 70% DISapproval rating? what, where? America hates you all, but the pretends think somehow.........they are smart. Elite college smart.

Leave it to our pint size doctor to play the most base and cowardly race card. Some things are just sooooo predictable. I am sooooooo glad our founding fathers did not include a bunch of PhD weeds amongst them... :D

Well they were forvthe most part the best and brightest of their time. They knew they didn’t have all the answers. There were compromises. They recognized they needed a strong central government if the country were to succeed. Much of our history had involved trying to bring the liberal principles of the enlightenment to realization. It’s ongoing. Civil War, Civil Rights, Universal Suffrahe etc

Our founding fathers had to make difficult choices regarding the issue of slavery. They had to keep the interests of 13 individual colonies in mind as they tried to hammer out a declaration of independence. There had to be appeasement to the slave states or there never would have been a declaration of independence. Was it the wrong thing to do... hell yes it was. The biggest mistake the founding fathers ignored was not dealing with the issue after the war was won. It took another 70 plus years and a bloodbath of a civil war to finally decide the issue. There are other nations out there that have been fighting the same wars for thousands of years with no end in sight. The USA despite the rich white slave owners that helped carve out this nation gave us a blueprint to fix things that they got wrong. It has not always been easy and it has not always been fair but as a nation we are still trying to get it right. Those rich white slave owners gave us the US Constitution. That is where we fix the mistakes along the journey.

In your case Doc... that would be very low praise... You are proof positive to that lecture my mom gave me all those years ago. I learned just how stupid I could be. That is a life lesson that has not endeared itself to your over inflated ego. Because some folks are just to intelligent to see it. :P Where do you roll 72,LEDs or compact florescent? Give us your dissertation please. ;)

Mayor Pete's star continues to rise:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions ... f4c670b1e5

"He’s a Rhodes scholar, Navy veteran, the young mayor of a midsize city (he was elected to lead South Bend, Ind., at age 29; he’s now 37), and apparently moonlights as an Arabic translator for hospital patients in tragic need. The hopeful gay millennial candidate has come out of nowhere and caught the nation’s eye....

Buttigieg (it’s “Boot-edge-edge,” if you’re still struggling) has distinguished himself from the current Democratic field, and from most politicians generally, by seeming to have a well-thought-out and comprehensive position on almost any topic. He’s developed an opinion on everything from white nationalism (not just “economic anxiety,” but a larger context of disorientation and lost community and identity) to Chick-fil-A (does not approve of its politics, kind of approves of its chicken). Potential voters approve: Last weekend’s Emerson Poll showed him shooting up to third place in the race in Iowa, behind Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, but ahead of Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren."

Interesting point about the compromise made:

But getting pissy with 72 was misplaced.

Creepy Uncle Joe has no shot in the #MeToo (D) Primary.
The "not as bad as Trump" defense doesn't cut it.
The comparison alone is disqualifying.

So you ascribe to 72's belief—"Those so called "best and brightest" white men of their times"—referring to men like Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, Adams etc.

Were they not the best and brightest white men of their times? At least such in America?

I read "so called" and " white men of their times" as referring to the bias that is pretty much irrefutable, when there are no women or people of color at the table.

But, hey, what they did, despite such bias, was pretty darn extraordinary.
True.
