3rd-best ACC team
I certainly can understand why ACC fans think they were screwed. But selection for the NC$$ tourney is based on a team's entire body of work, not where they are at the end of the season. Because teams tend to play infra-conference games as the season progresses, league play takes on extra weight.

People can recover from injuries, underclassmen can mature, etc., so teams can get better as the season progresses. OTOH, even a Maryland could be hit by a slew of injuries that takes the team down a notch or two.

In this case, the top ACC teams may have been hurt by the bottom teams.

But arguing one or more ACC teams that did not make the tourney are better than teams that did is just a red herring.

On the sideline, soon after he came out, he was walking to a table under his own power & smiling.
To me it looked as if a long stick hit his kneecap. So, hopefully just a painful bruise. At worst, a broken kneecap.

Harvard has a huge advantage shooting from the sun. Now, are they smart enough to capitalize?

Cornell at home down by one at halftime, like Yale yesterday. Harvard needs to find the energy and execution shown against Yale; I must admit I love the look of Rutgers' grass field and stadium.

Ohio State with easily the worst performance of the 1st Round. Just had no response and no adjustments after the delay. Don't seem to have any second option besides picks on offense, Van Buren is not covering Kirst who has a career day, no timeout at all in the 2H. Cornell executed really well on offense but wild how OSU has just let this roll downhill

Or Maryland did. Isn't the first time, won't be the last time.

Remember 2019, when Yale/Penn met in that epic battle in the quarters. Still convinced those teams should have been bracketed to meet on Memorial Day.

Hell, I think Virginia won that year in part because Yale had to beat first Penn and then Penn State. They were gassed by the time they faced Virginia.

Really? Hmm..., all I kept reading on this forum was how OSU was going to dominate Cornell.

Oh well, back to Mama's skirt for Squint Crack and Anus.

A PLAY IN THREE ACTS: The Lighting Chasers

Act I (Scene: The Orfling's Living Room)
The Orfling is ensconced on the sofa, watching lacrosse, frowning a little bit as Ohio State takes a 4-0 lead on the Big Red. 'Mmm,' The Orfling muses. 'Those Ivy Haters will go plumb wild if another seeded Ivy loses in the first round. Welp, nothing to be done.' The Orfling's phone rings. It's a 607 area code. The Orfling pauses, then picks up. 'Hello? Who's calling?' The voice on the other end of the line is steady and determined. "Orfling. I can't identify myself, but you can call me by my code name, 'Broadway Joe '78.' No, no time to explain. Just answer me two questions. Rumor has it you were in New Haven in the mid-1980s when a certain now-multi-billionaire was playing lacrosse for the Bulldogs. True?" "Yep." The Orfling says laconically. "Anyway you can tap that Bulldog lax network and come up with a way to contact him in the next 10 minutes?" The Orfling hesitates. "It's for The League, Orfling," Broadway Joe '78 says urgently. The Orfling pauses, then says. "Yep."

Act II (Scene: A certain now multi-billionaire's jet soaring through the skies above the East Coast)
A call comes from the cockpit. A uniformed flight officer hurries down the aisle and he says to the now-multi-billionaire: "The tower patched in a distress call from a place called 'Schoellkopf Field.' Guy named 'Broadway Joe 78' says he's got to talk to you. Says it's 'for the honor of The League.' Is he talking about the NBA, sir?" "Nope," says the multi-billionaire as he strides to the cockpit. "He's talking about a league that's far more important than the National Basketball Association." The flight officer lingers outside the cockpit where he can hear the multi-billionaire. "Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Got it. The guys need a little time to get themselves organized and if they get it, they can do it? I'm on it. Give me a few minutes to have my people make the calculations."

Act III (Scene: The multi-billionaire's jet, in the dark heart of a cumulonimbus cloud 20,000 feet above Ithaca)

The flight officer is confused. "We're using THIS jet to fly a cloud-seeding mission? We're trying to make it rain?" "No," says the multi-billionaire. "We're not TRYING for rain. We're GOING to make some lightning. About 2 strikes 30 minutes apart should do it." "Can I ask why?" the flight officer says plaintively. "Nope," says the multi-billionaire.

We would have to lose 20 IQ points to be considered brilliant.

Now, for my sister, that's true. She's a Cornell grad. But my interactions on here have found myself wondering what others were doing with their 4 years there
